Q. Any ideas for a nice and original gift for men?

Answer
The best way is to find something suitable from these three categories: cloths/accessories, electronic gadgets, and cigars/alcohol. The gifts will vary in price; it depends on your style.

I have picked some examples. First common one is a leather wallet. For instance you can buy a Prada wallet for around $150. Another fine accessory is a wrist watch. Especially here you can choose whatever price category suits you. I have quickly found a $29 leather band watch at amazon.com, but you may want to go into hundreds of dollars and choose rather Gucciâs for $600. When you consider buying small electronics think about Amazon Kindle (e-book reader, look at amazon.com) or iPad (check out your Apple store). Many men like movies and if you have enough space in your house, consider a projector (price $300 and up). Then I have recently found a website Cigar Gift Boutique (http://www.cigargiftboutique.com) that offers luxury cuban cigars for $39 with worldwide free shipping and where you can comfortably customize the gift packaging. Itâs a good way to make the gift more personal.

Remember that the best gifts have two things in common - they are surprising and useful.

Custom made survival pack items?

This'll be the third time I've asked this question because I keep getting list after list of basic survival items. I already have a backpack with basic elements of survival. I also have a lot of 'handy items" that I have come to enjoy carrying with me (i.e. candle, glue, nails, needle and thread, etc) that aren't necessary for survival.

I wanted to see if anybody could suggest any more handy items they have come to discover is quite a luxury when they need it. Just some straight up good ideas is all.

Some good ideas from my other answered questions include: toilet paper, several yards of duct tape wrapped around nails, a few nips of alcohol

Please don't bother answering this if you are going to copy and paste a list from another site. Thanks
now these suggestions are fantastic!

If you are using a backpacking backpack.... you can wrap duck tape around the frame.

For parachute cord, I have woven 40 feet of it into a size 38 belt for myself using a Cobra Stitch and 2 buckles I cannibalized from some old equipment. If I wanted more cord, I could add a King Cobra Stitch.

I also have a wrist band made of 10 feet of cord and 2 cannibalized buckles... If I had been thinking, I could have woven a watch into it. I plan on adding a dog tag to it, when I learn my blood type.

That parachute cord is great stuff... The belt has a strength in excess of 1100 pounds. If you unravel it into the 14 strands inside the sheath, you could get more than 500 feet of fishing line, capable is catching small fish. If you needed more strength, for bigger fish, you could keep it in 7 strands, with half the length.

The belt would make a great tourniquet.

The cord can be used for snares.

You can floss with it, thus keeping dental hygiene up.

It can be used for hoisting things into trees.

It can be used from some basic climbing... the cord can support 550lbs.

It can aid in constructing a shelter.

It can be a clothes line.

It is super stuff. I always wear the wrist band, and I wear the belt on backpacking trips. I always have at least 10 feet of cord with me.
