What are some of the best watch brands for women?

birthday gift:)

Answer
An elegant luxury watch is always the best gift, I'm sure. No woman can resist a diamond encrusted designer's watch. (I don't want to promote any brand ). Or just any expensive one. (That is if you're not on a tight budget). I would like to answer your question without citing any brand name. I'll just give you some tips to decide in buying a luxury watch. First, consider her personal style; the watch should reflect her personality. Next, her activities, does she need that watch for everyday use? Then, her personal taste--that you should know. Now, you must decide which type of watch to buy--mechanical that needs winding, kinetic that requires little maintenance or battery powered? Of course, the price and quality is always a consideration. But if you want to make an impression, go for the limited edition. If you don't have that much savings, I'll tell you something--there are replica watches you can choose for(Chinese, Japanese and Swiss replicas). But go for Swiss grade replica, they may cost you around $1000, not cheap but they are made from precious and semi-precious materials like gold and diamond. They can even be the exact copy of the original branded watch including the materials and mechanism, many watchmakers wouldn't able to tell the difference--including your girlfriend.

Anyway, it's the thought that matters most. Any gift will always be appreciated if it comes from someone who truly love. If you are still indecisive, just check the link below for additional tips.

Even though these are only 16 questions, I was inspired to ask this because my boyfriend was on the phone with me(he's in jail) and he was singing 50 Cent's "21 Questions" when I was crying. It made me smile and feel better. I'm devoted to my man forever. He's my world, my heart, my soul, my king, my everything. How you feels about yours?

Answer
1. If your man/woman lost all his/her possessions would you still love him/her?
Of course I would, I'm in love with her, not her stuff.

2. If your man/woman didn't smell too good, would still hug him/her?
I hug her when she reeks after softball practice

3. If your man/woman got locked up and sentenced to five years or more would you be there to support him/her mentally?
I would be shocked. She's not much of a rule breaker.

4. If your man/woman went from a luxury vehicle to a used, beat up car would disappear on him/her?
I don't care for cars, I would love her with Lexus just as much as I would love her with a bike.

5. If your man/woman was physically hurt would you be his/her side?
In a red hot second

6. If your man/woman was forced to break the law would you back him/her up regardless?
Forced? This is a silly question.

7. If your man/woman flipped burgers at Burger King, would you be ashamed to tell your friends you're in love with him/her?
Of course I would. I would love her no matter what she did for a living.

8. If your man/woman used his/her tongue in the bed, would you like that?
Uh...yeah

9. If your man/woman wrote you a love letter would write back?
Yes. I like to write her love notes. :-)

10. It's easy to love your man/woman now, would you love him/her if he/she was down and out?
We've been through happy times and sad times. She's having a hard time with something right now, and it's heartbreaking to watch, but I'll be there to make her feel better in any little way I can.

11. Would you leave your man/woman if they constantly got in trouble with the law?
She's really not the type to get in trouble with the law, it's one of the things I like about her.

12. Do you believe your man/woman when he/she tells you that you're the only one they love?
Yes, totally.

13. Do you trust your man/woman enough to tell him/her your dreams?
Yes.

14. If your man/woman was sad would you say things to make him/her smile?
Anything I could.

15. If your man/woman was talking with some other guy/girl and he/she tells you they're not doing anything sexual, would you believe him/her or leave him/her?
Yes, I trust her. She can have friends and a life, we don't have to live in eachothers pockets. I like that about us.

16. How deep is your bond with your man/woman if that's all it'll take for you to be gone?
I found my soulmate, my partner in crime and my best friend all wrapped up in one dynamite little package

What's so bad about what I am doing?

Mr. Luxury

Okay, so I'm 15, and a guy. I'm not gay, I just like to shop a lot. I have total about 46 shirts, and 21 pairs of pants (this includes jeans, pants, khaki's, etc). I also can't help myself when it comes to brands. I have brands such as Ralph Lauren, Guess, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Brooks Brothers, JoS. A. Bank, and more. But I don't pay full price for all these. I purchase some of the more expensive clothing such as Gucci and Ralph Lauren used on eBay. The good thing about this is that most kids in my school don't have access or a paren't who knows how to use eBay, so i'm at an advantage when it comes to this. I've saved hundreds of dollars! I only paid $60 for the Gucci shirt! That shirt new was a $400 shirt!. And by some miracle, I have gotten all my Ralph Lauren shirts for around $20-$30 used! My JoS. A. Bank I purchased at Goodwill for $2.99, along with my Calvin Klein, my L.L. Bean, and my Brooks Brothers. The JoS. A. Bank shirt I got was new $119.99! The Calvin Klein new was about $50, and my Calvin Klein Jacket new was about $100! My brooks brothers shirt new was $118.50 when I looked on their website, and the Abercrombie & Fitch shirts I have I paid about $3 a piece for used when new they were $60-$70! Now I also have automatic watches, Seiko watches, etc... I paid about $30 for my used Seiko watch (new was a $250 watch), and bought my Automatic watch on eBay for $30, but not sure how much it was new. BUT I LOVE IT! Now for my shoes, I have 9 pairs, Nike Elite's (which are one of the best shoes Nike has released, costing between $250-$300, which I got on eBay for $50 used! I am even looking at a pair of used Gucci shoes on eBay at the moment.

So even though I am wearing some of the best brands in the school (Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Brooks Brothers, JoS. A. Bank, Guess, etc) I have paid about the same as all the other kids in my school. About 99% of the kids in my school wear Aeropostale, and American Eagle. I don't tell them I got all my shirts off eBay, because that wouldn't be smart. I haven't spent a dime more than the other kids at school for clothing... but have the best brands in the school. Some of the brands I wear have even found themselves onto the list of top 10 most expensive brands in the world, such as Gucci, and Guess.

So now to get to the point.... even though I am thrifty when it comes to buying my name and luxury brands, my parent's still fear I have a spending problem. I don't think so... I mean, who wouldn't want brands such as Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Brooks Brothers, and more? Plus, for the cost of very cheap brands, I have some of the best brands you can find according to an article I read online. I looked at all my clothing the other day, and added together what I would have spent if I purchased hem new. I would have spent over $5,000 on everything if they were new. But do you know what I spent? Not even 1/5 of that! About $600 total. So yes, I do spend a little more than most people, but for the brands I have, it could have been a lot more.

My mothers birthday was about 4 months ago, and to show her how nice luxury things were since she doesn't have any, I saved for about a year (yes I know I don't have a steady income) to buy her two Gucci watches, which I spent $100 for the pair on. Mind you, these watches new were about $1,000. One model was outdated, but there's one they still sell today. I thought it would show here how nice these things are... but she hasn't even worn them once! I also got my dad a Ralph Lauren Dress shirt (new was about $150), and he's never worn it. My dad sticks to his $5 shirts from Walmart, and my mom sticks to her $12 watches from Walmart. My parents complain about me spending too much... but they can afford it. My mother has an administrative position in the office, and my father is a programmer.

So back onto the subject, do you think I have a spending problem?
Even the organ I am standing next to in this picture I got used for $50

Answer
I understand that you don't buy clothes for full price, but that is still an exorbitant amount of money that you spend. You must go to a school with really rich kids, because most people I know would probably not spend a hundred dollars on a single piece of clothing. You say that you are being frugal and it's not a problem because you can afford it, but I think that your parents just want the best for you. If you spend a lot of money now, you might not have enough for an emergency in the future. The less you spend now, the more you have later, even if you think that you won't need that much money. Just try to curb your spending a little - save them for special occasions. But if you still feel that you need to continue spending, then do what makes you feel good - as long as the consequences are not bad.

Do wanna-be SAHM's really want to do it for the children or for their own selfish desires?

Neo

Regarding this article:
http://thewomanandthedragon.wordpress.com/2012/09/19/one-out-of-three-women-resent-their-husbands-for-not-earning-enough-money/

Here are a couple exerpts from a woman (ok, just one but does she represent more?)

âSo maybe while itâs a luxury (SAHM) I do think about, itâs not one I would want unless it was actually luxurious. I donât want to be a stay at home mom who clips coupons or plans her weekly menu to make ends meet⦠If thatâs the case, Iâd gladly go on working to avoid that fate.â

Since when is being a stay-at-home-mom meant to be a luxury job?

Answer
I believe SAHMs do so because [between her and her spouse] they've come up with this being the best for their family. There are as many different reasons to/not to, as there are personalities in people.

Personally, if I'm accustomed to taking vacations, I'd want to continue to be able to take vacations, and I don't think you'd think that was "selfish", if it were in reverse... Seriously, would you consider it selfish if he says "I want you to continue working so that I can have luxury vacations..."?

Personally, I've clipped coupons before, and it's really quite the pain to do so. You have to watch expiration dates, whether or not you have the correct item/size/amount, you have to deal with stores being out of those items [and not offering replacements or rain-checks]. I did it just as a way of saving money, not necessarily because I had to. I just found with all the time it took to cut coupons, cypher through them to see which ones are "usable", and tracking everything else that coupon clipping deals with, it was more of a waste of time, than money I was "saving".

Is there a limit on how tan some people can get?

Chelsea

I'm kind of pale and can burn easily at first if I don't wear spf, but once I get a base tan I won't really burn anymore. However, when I get that "base tan" it seems like I don't really get darker at all afterwards? Not even a sunburn or anything. So I was just curious if there is a limit on how tan a person can get?
Thanks, any answers are appreciated!

Answer
TAN OBSESSION: "When I see a woman with bronzed skin, I look at it the way you might picture the inside of a smoker's lungs," says Dr. Ellen Marmur, MD., associate professor of dermatology @ the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC.

~ Glamour May 2012

Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles, skin tags or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier, even skin diseases like Bullous Pemphegoid or Discoid Lupus. Like exercising, your muscles will sag, when suddenly you stopped, same with getting a tan, they will fade.

Tanning, is a result for 'damaged skin' and no products can reverse you from skin cancer or damaged skin, may prevent you from pre-mature aging, but that's part of the billion dollar beauty industry. To get super than you will have to be tanning for @ least 60 years, George Hamilton & Tom Jones are two examples, who ARE super tan! Google them.

Melanoma is the leading cause of death from skin disease. An estimated 76,259 new cases of skin cancer will be reported particularly among women in their 20's & 30's, and that's 6,020 more than 2011, people died from the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute. Two million people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the US each year, according to the EPA's Sun-Wise Program. That's more than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer cases combine!

Lotions does not protect you from nasty, painful burns. Lotions does not protect you from skin cancer. Lotions does not protect you from skin diseases. Lotions does not protect you from discolorations - permanently. And lotions does not protect you from skin tags, freckles, moles, they will only get larger, darker, and bumpier as they are exposed from UV.

Watch Mirror, Mirror when the evil queen played by Julia Roberts wanted to look as fair as the princess played by Lily Collins. I came from a vacay in Ireland, and many of the people there working in the profession (luxury hotels and banks, etc.) have beautiful white complexion!
This is what beautiful flawless skin looks like:
http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/dos-and-donts/hairstyle-pictures-today/2012/05/15/zooey-deschanel-side-swept-chocolate-curls
Google Liv Tyler. http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=liv+tyler&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Or Google Catherine Zeta Jones - she's 42 with beautiful skin.
Watch The Duchess - Keira Knightly has flawless complexion - a natural beauty.

I've been protecting myself from the sun since age 9, but no matter, I got Discoid Lupus. Google that one. It was like someone punched my chin and it gave a purplish mark. It took 12 years for that to fade, so now I'm using a wide brim hat or umbrella for protection. Gene Simmons & Shannon both have been seen hold an umbrella during an event. They were invented before beauty products, for a reason. Google also Bullous Pemphegoid, photos, another skin disorder.

Nice watch for my mom this Christmas?

Kyle

I want to get my mom a nice watch for Christmas. I would like to keep my purchase under $350 if at all possible. I was thinking something along the lines of this:
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=Citizen+Women%27s+EW0890-58D+Eco-Drive+Riva+Diamond+Accented+Watch&um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&sa=N&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1366&bih=665&tbm=isch&tbnid=NjZGNoz29hAL5M:&imgrefurl=http://www.itmustbetime.com/citizen-women-s-eco-drive-riva-diamond-accented-watch-ew0890-58d.html&docid=_lOsmNsh9kh-oM&itg=1&imgurl=http://www.itmustbetime.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/E/W/EW0890-58D.jpg&w=280&h=280&ei=6jPHTqDHKMuEtgfGycTsCw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=190&vpy=251&dur=365&hovh=143&hovw=143&tx=114&ty=59&sig=102680990115656803068&page=1&tbnh=143&tbnw=143&start=0&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0
it is $296 on Amazon.
But I am not sure what a good brand is, or if this is a good watch for the money.
I know she wouldn't like anything too big and too flashy, so I am trying to keep it on the smaller side and avoid something that stands out too much. I think she prefers mostly silver.

If you guys could recommend me any good quality watches, watch brands, or even a decent place to purchase watches your help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Answer
Rolex watches are the ultimate luxury watches, but they would be out of your price range unless you buy them on ebay.
Good watch brands include Swatch, Citizen, Seiko, Casio, and designer watches like Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, DKNY, Armani, all of which would come within your price range.

The website I linked just lists some brands and price comparisons that you may find helpful

Answer
Always a challenge, but I am sure she does not have anything like these purses:

http://shop.exclusivethaidecor.com/Royal-Purses-Yan-Lipao_c47.htm

They are luxury purses from Thailand, held for the elite and the King and Queen until a few years ago only they could get them. They are all made to order, but we have a few on hand in our US shipping location for fast holiday delivery, if interested just ask us.

We also have other things that are truly unique as well, all hand made to bring out this "one-of-a-kind" feel with each product.

Let me know if this is helpful...at least its not a gift card idea! :)

In Islam the wearing of Gold and Silk are haram for men.?

In Islam the wearing of Gold and Silk are haram for men. Can anyone explain from the quran or from the sunnah that why are these things haram.
@diamant
Very accurate, no contest!
Heres a few, but diamant is more indepth.

There are many hadiths which cover this subject, here are a few:

Sunan Abu Dawud, Book 27, Hadith 4046 - Narrated by Ali ibn Abu Talib: The Prophet of Allah (SAW) took silk and held it in his right hand, and took gold and held it in his left hand and said: "both of these are prohibited to the males of my community"

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 7.731 Narrated byAli bin Abi Talib
The Prophet gave me a silk suit. I went out wearing it, but seeing the signs of anger on his face, I tore it and distributed it among my wives.

Sunan of Abu-DawoodHadith 4224 Narrated byAbuHurayrah
The Prophet (pbuh) said: If anyone wants to put a ring of fire on one he loves, let him put a gold ring on him: if anyone wants to put a necklace of fire on one he loves, let him put a gold necklace on him, and if anyone wants to put a bracelet of fire on one he loves let him put a gold bracelet on him. Keep to silver and amuse yourselves with it.

Answer
Islam has, prohibited two kinds of adornment for men, while permitting them to women. These are, first, gold ornaments and, second, clothing made of pure silk. `Ali reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took some silk in his right hand and some gold in his left, declaring, "These two are haram for the males among my followers." (Reported by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, an-Nasa'i, Ibn Hayyan, and Ibn Majah, who reports the additional phrase, "but halal for the females.") `Umar reported that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "Do not wear silk, for those who wear it in this life shall not wear it in the Hereafter." (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim) On another occasion, referring to a silken garment, he said, "This is the dress of a man who has no character.'' (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once saw a gold ring on a man's hand. He immediately took it from him and threw it down saying, "Does a person pick up a piece of burning coal and hold it in his hand?" After the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had left the place, someone asked the man, "Why do you not pick it up and benefit from it?" He replied, "No, by Allah! I shall not pick it up after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has thrown it away." (Reported by Muslim)

The same prohibition which applies to the gold ring likewise applies to what we observe among conspicuous spenders, i.e., the gold pen, gold watch, gold cigarette case and lighter, gold teeth, etc.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), however, permitted men to wear silver rings. On the authority of Ibn `Umar, al-Bukhari reported the former saying, "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wore a silver ring. After him, Abu Bakr and then `Umar and `Uthman wore it, until it fell off his finger into the well of Arees." (Reported by al-Bukhari) As for other metals such as iron, there are no sound texts prohibiting them. On the contrary, in the Sahih of al-Bukhari we find that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) advised a man who wanted to marry a woman to, "Present her with a gift, even if it be ring made of iron." On the basis of this hadith al-Bukhari inferred the permissibility of iron rings.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made concessions in the wearing of silken garments for medical reasons, as he gave `Abd ar-Rahman ibn `Awf and az-Zubayr ibn al-`Awwam, both of whom suffered from scabies, permission to wear silk. (Reported by al-Bukhari)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
>>>>>The Wisdom of These Two Prohibitions Concerning Men
By means of these two prohibitions which concern men, Islam's aim is to achieve certain noble educational and moral objectives.
Since it is the religion of jihad (striving) and strength, Islam must safeguard the manly qualities of men from any show of weakness, passivity, and lethargy. Allah has made the physique of the man different from that of the woman, and it does not befit a man to wear clothes made of fine material or to adorn his body with costly ornaments.
There is, however, a social aim underlying these prohibitions. The prohibition of gold and silk to males is part of a broader Islamic program of combating luxuriousness in living. From the Qur'anic point of view, luxurious living leads to weakness among nations and to their eventual downfall; the existence of luxury is also an expression of social injustice, as only a few can afford luxurious items at the expense of the deprived masses of people.
In addition to this, luxurious living is an enemy of every call towards truth, justice, and social reform. The Qur'an says: "And when We intend that We should destroy a township, we permit its luxury-loving people to commit wickedness therein. Then the word is proved true against it, and We then destroy it utterly." (Al-Isra': 16) and again, "And We did not send a warner to any township without its luxury-loving people saying, 'Assuredly we are disbelievers in that with which you have been sent.'" (Saba': 34)
In keeping with the spirit of the Qur'an, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade Muslims any indulgence in conspicuous consumption. He not only forbade the use of gold and silk to men but also forbade men and women alike the use of gold and silver utensils.
Finally, economic considerations also carry some weight here. Since gold is a universal medium of exchange, using it to make household utensils or ornaments for men does not make sense in economic terms.
I need advice please.....?
Q. I currently work for a luxury hotel in downtown chicago. Recently i was called in for a meeting with my manager of my department as well as Dir. of engineering which in my hotel he plays the Dir. of security role (My department). I was asked a series of question regarding this guest i was helping and apparently i had spend more time that i needed to assisting the guest. My manager reviewed the cameras and i was observed showing her the property as well as assisting her in the business center (Please keep in mind that i work as overnight Security and that its not busy at all my job duties include walking of the property and assisting guest to the best of my ability) at times i perform other job duties especially working at night as a bellman and while showing this young lady to the Business center i offered to take her coat in which she agreed. I kept it professional at all times, as she stepped in the Elevator i placed my hand 1 inch away from her lower back (Not touching) the guest, my manager stated that i was seen steeping in the elevator with the guest also but i explained that she proceeded to go up to her room to retrieve some information she needed as i waiting out on the floor by the elevator. My manager stated that i was no where to be seen for 7 minutes ( No cameras on guest floors) the guest and i then were seen back on camera (No touching or any kind of contact) getting off the elevator and heading out the door yet on camera which has no audio the guest is asking me for the nearest store to purchase cigarettes as i'm exiting the building from the main entrance showing her directions. then he proceeded to ask me another series of question in regards to our employee entry card which is a hard card that we use to enter and exit our building apparently i don't use my card to exit the building but i do entering the building. I explained that as a security officer my job duties include patrolling the employee entrance as well as the perimeter. The original Director of Security quit our department a little less than a month ago, The hotel decided to promote from within the department and the Manager that is in charge now was a partner of mine along with six other guys (What I mean by partner is another Security officer with the same rank as me) all thru out my 5 months working there i noticed that he would say racist things like example " there is things coming up missing from the safe in our office you gotta watch those Puerto Ricans" he said this in front of another officer. and of course i'm the only Puerto rican working in our department, He then always proceeded to state that if he would be manager he would get rid of any security officer with experience because he says that Security with experience know this so called "Loop hole". Now i have been in the hotel industry for 10 years as a security officer. I have several times encountered other officers of Caucasian race explaining to me that our manager wants to get rid of me. I feel that he wants to get rid of me because i am Puerto Rican he asked me about the entry card and exiting the building without using it but yet i have witnessed other officers doing the same and no warnings were said to them (other caucasian officers) and while he became a manager he sends other Caucasian officers to get him coffee down the street and when they leave the building they dont even use the entry card to leave the property and they do this in front of him and all he says is keep the change and that they could've bought something for themselves, Now i was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation but yet i was not made clear on what investigation was being done i was not even made clear of what i was being investigated over, I could only assume based on the series of questioning that he provided. i have only received one form of documentation based on my tardiness in which i have not ben late for work again and when he provided this to me he explained that it was not a write up but yet a form of documentation describing that he did have a talk with me over my tardiness. I suppose to receive a call tomorrow from H.R department and im so worried because i dont know what to say or yet if they would even hear the side of my story, I feel like they have already made some decision but for what? for me doing my job? Please help me and guide me in any way. I very much appreciate your time honestly i cant sleep and im so stressed its been 3 long days.
Answer
When the H.R. department phones you, if it seems that they are not letting the situation go, be sure that you are given an opportunity to state your defense. Confidently state the details of the night in question. You must also state that you believe this is a personal attack from your supervisor because of the racist comments he has made in the past. Sometimes companies set up a separate private line for employees to file racial harassment reports if they are too uncomfortable reporting it to someone they work with. Say you would like to file a formal report and ask what your options are for filing one. Also, if he made the comments some time ago, be prepared to explain why you are now just coming forward (otherwise they may think that you're afraid of losing your job and that you're making something up to protect yourself). You might consider explaining that while you were initially willing to let the comments go unless they worsened, based on the current accusation, you fear that he is taking his racist mentality to the next level. If possible, get members from your team to serve as witnesses (request to set it up so they can do it anonymously, so they won't be scared that they will later be targeted by this supervisor). Be confident in your accusation against your supervisor and demand that your case is reviewed, most companies take such accusations very seriously (as they can sometimes be sued).
who can tell me how to recognize the replica watches by our eye?
Arthur
last week, I bought a watch from the internet, when I show the watch to my friends, they said that my watch was a replica watch, I am very confuse, and I felt that I was cheated by the seller. now, I just want to know how to judge them by our eye, if you have any information,please let me know, thank you!
Answer
Check these following aspects yourselves to a watch you going to buy:
1.The Crystal: Hardness and Reflection: A number of watch manufacturers employ a thin coating or veneer on the surface of the watch's glass crystal to reduce light reflections and its effects. This often gives the crystal a slightly blue tint viewed at most angles. If the watch you're examining is a reputable and well-known brand, you may have reason to be concerned if there are a large number of reflections from the crystal at various angles. High-end luxury watches today use a synthetic sapphire for the crystal, compared to treated glass that many cheap replicas use and a true sapphire crystal will be scratch-resistant.
2.The Case: Details and Mechanism: Authentic watches have a transparent case back that allows you to see the watch mechanism and movement. They also generally have enhancing elements such as sophisticated gears and an intricate finish on the watch movement. Fake watches, on the other hand, have no decorations and expose a very plain mechanism with little or no detail and one look at it will often expose the watch as counterfeit.
3.The Crown: Solid or Shoddy: Cheap replicas sometimes have the logo glued to the crown. Ascertain that the crown has no indication of glue or rough edges. The watch should also wind smoothly and effortlessly. Some replicas imitate the engraving on the watch crown with laser etching, but this method is rarely used on authentic watches. In addition, some watches have jewels embedded in the crown. On genuine watches this jewel is usually a sapphire or ruby while replicas normally use a glass or crystal stone that can easily be spotted by its dull appearance.
4.The Band: Pins or Screws: Watches generally have leather, rubber, ceramic, carbon fiber, or metal straps or bands, which are straightforward to replace and customize to the owner's needs or taste. Quality leather watch bands are padded or have a soft leather inner section. Metal bands, on the other hand, are harder to duplicate. The cheaper bands are made of low-grade stainless steel and are typically held together with pins instead of the screws that most genuine manufacturers use. The more expensive bands are of higher-quality steel and use screws.
What are some of the best watch brands for women?
birthday gift:)
Answer
An elegant luxury watch is always the best gift, I'm sure. No woman can resist a diamond encrusted designer's watch. (I don't want to promote any brand ). Or just any expensive one. (That is if you're not on a tight budget). I would like to answer your question without citing any brand name. I'll just give you some tips to decide in buying a luxury watch. First, consider her personal style; the watch should reflect her personality. Next, her activities, does she need that watch for everyday use? Then, her personal taste--that you should know. Now, you must decide which type of watch to buy--mechanical that needs winding, kinetic that requires little maintenance or battery powered? Of course, the price and quality is always a consideration. But if you want to make an impression, go for the limited edition. If you don't have that much savings, I'll tell you something--there are replica watches you can choose for(Chinese, Japanese and Swiss replicas). But go for Swiss grade replica, they may cost you around $1000, not cheap but they are made from precious and semi-precious materials like gold and diamond. They can even be the exact copy of the original branded watch including the materials and mechanism, many watchmakers wouldn't able to tell the difference--including your girlfriend.
Anyway, it's the thought that matters most. Any gift will always be appreciated if it comes from someone who truly love. If you are still indecisive, just check the link below for additional tips.
Rolex or Hublot watch?
Yonkers
Which watch do you think is more class/stylish/expensive and just well better? Which do you prefer and why?
Answer
Some answers here are too subjective and give no reasons for their choices. Let's look at these two brands as objectively as possible by comparing some data about them that I find in my many watch magazines and almanacs. You can then have some basis for forming your own opinion.
HISTORY
Hans Wilsdorf began making watches in 1905. In 1908, he began using the name Rolex on his watches. The derivation of that name is uncertain.
Carlo Crocco founded Hublot in 1980. "Hublot" is French for "porthole" that the bezel resembles with its screws. Jean-Claude Biver who revived Blancpain in 1982 moved to Hublot in 2004 to become CEO.
EMPLOYEES & PRODUCTION
Rolex has over 2000 workers who produce almost 1,000,000 watches each year lately.
Hublot has about 150 workers who make 24,000 watches annually.
COLLECTIONS
Rolex offers mainly "Oyster Perpetual" automatic water-resistant sports watches and some "Cellini" dress watches.
Hublot offers "Classic", "Big Bang" and "King" lines.
MONEY SPENT ON ADS IN THE USA IN 2007
Rolex spent much more than any other company, i.e. $47,100,000. Breitling was a not so close second with $27,070,000. Hublot was 18th with $5,280,000 spent.
BASIC SPORTS WATCHES
$6300Sb, $9950S&Rb Rolex "O.P. Datejust" 4fa
$6900S, $10,900S&R Hublot "Classic Fusion" 4fa
DEEP DIVING WATCHES
$10,650Sb Rolex "O.P. Sea Dweller Deep Sea" 4fa 3900 meter diver
$19,000T Hublot "King Power Diver" 4fa 4000 meter diver
GOLD CHRONOGRAPHS
$27,650R Rolex "O.P. Cosmograph Daytona" 3fa-C (also $34,700Rb)
$27,900R Hublot "Classic Fusion Chrono" 4fa-C
MOST COMPLICATED MODELS
$27,650R Rolex "O.P. Cosmograph Daytona" 3fa-C (listed under Chronographs)
$375,000R&CF Hublot "King Power" 3fm-MR-T-C
SECOND MOST COMPLICATED MODELS
$25,150S&Rb Rolex "O.P. Yacht-Master II" 3fa with yacht regatta countdown
$195,000Z Hublot "King Power" 3fm-T-C
Well, what do you think? I say that Rolex is "hyped". Everyone hears about about it, since it spends far more money on ads than any other brand. It's not the costliest nor the best brand. My Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin dress watches cost over 3.5 times as much as a comparable Rolex, and they're worth it. The production figures show Rolex is mass-produced with each employee making 500 watches per year. Each Hublot employee produces 160 watches per year and thus works 3.125 times as long on each watch. Patek and Vacheron spend even more time on each watch. Rolex is hardly a major brand when it makes no watch more complicated than a chronograph. The most complicated wriswatch of all is Franck Muller's "Aeternitas Mega 4" -GS-MR-T-PC-CR with 1483 parts that costs $2,666,700P in 2012. I have written five editions of a book about "THE COSTLIEST WATCH BRANDS". Rolex places 46th costliest in 2012. It seems that Rolex is vastly over-rated. The top watch aficianados aren't impressed by it. I bought two Rolexes soon after I graduated from college, but now, I wear Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget, Cartier, IWC, Patek and Vacheron more often.
EDIT: Hasan is wrong to say Rolex is the best watch. It's good but not great. I own two Rolexes, but some of my other watches I've listed are better by far. A Jeager-LeCoultre "Master" sports watch is severely tested for 1000 hours while 1.4 Rolexes are made each day. Rolex is what I consider a bottom line Luxury Brand, since it's so much cheaper than the costliest brands. Lee Cameron a San Francisco watch repairman I know well likes Omega better than Rolex. Repairman Rolf Klotz from Germany also likes Omega very well.
Looking to buy new wrist watch...leaning toward bulova, are they reliable?
Its time to get myself a xmas gift. I have been looking at watches for a couple months now. At first i was looking to spend anywhere from $400-$1000, as long as i got something that looked and felt of luxury. However, i visted a kay jewler and took a look at the bulova watch set. I liked the style of the watches and the prices were all under $600, with a much more expensive and exquisite look. My question is are they worth it? Would it be much different to spend 3-$400 more for a different brand?Im not necessarily looking for a diamond watch but i tried this one on and i really liked the look. It had some shine because of the diamonds and black interface but not too much(i think diamond bezels look tacky unless you have 5 + carats)
