Why is rolex so special and top luxury brand?

TEFERI BEK

What is the basic thing that differnttiate rolex from other luxury watches?

Answer
It's not a top luxury brand. Not even close....

The price range where Rolex sells is basically a beginning/low-end of luxury Swiss time piece. What Rolex did is clever and excellent advertising and resulting name recognition. Everybody knows Rolex, and Rolex is associated with luxury.

It's special because owners value them. It's special because people value them.

Is it more accurate than Casio? NO.
Is it more durable than cheap digital watches? NO.
Is it better water proof than most? YES.

Brands like Patek Philippe is considered the higher end of luxury watches. These are priced where Rolex ends and goes upward of 1 million dollars without any precious stones.

By the way.....
People don't buy these to look at time. These are bought as jewelry. It's value is not its functionality.

what is brand positioning? what are the ways of brand promoting?

avijit_pro

Answer
Positioning is how your brand is placed relative to other brands in the market. Rolex is positioned as a luxury brand for the high end market while Swatch positions itself as an affordable, fun watch brand.

Promotion of brands is done in many different media including print, radio, television and the internet. Brand promotion is not about a particular offer or product it is about the brand and is most commonly served up by Madison Avenue advertising groups.

Are their cars in India or is the country still developing?

Q. Are their cars in India or is the country still developing? I often visualize India asa land of elephants and camels....Do cars go on the road? What do people do for a living their since they probably don't have certain luxuries that a great country like American would have? Do they have shops and places to eat food? What is the country like in general?

Answer
Ok, first things first. The camels and elephants you think of are in the zoos/ desert/ designated wild areas(like safari). Very rarely you find them on the road, that too they are for shows/ rides - money making tricks for its owner.

You'll find lots of cars on roads, motorbikes and scooters are very popular. Buses, trains, planes - just as in another country. Even in the villages, people use motorbikes and bikes and buses.

What is your idea of luxury? In a typical Indian city, you'll find every house equipped with a fridge, washing machine, microwave too these days. To top it, you have house maids that are commonly employed for cleaning purposes. Hiring cooks is very in now in the cities.

India is filled with eateries. From street food to five star luxuries. Consumer is king and he can choose what he wants to eat.

The country is diverse in culture, language, traditions. In the cities - In a typical community, you'll find people talking different languages, but with a common state language. Men and women work, while kids are sent to schools which are very expensive. College goers usually hang out in clubs on the weekends, people party with booze and cigarettes. Families celebrate traditions with festive decorations, lots of food, show away wealth. Life is pretty interesting, never a dull moment.
Maruti- Suzuki is a famous car brand, but you can easily find Honda accord, Hyundai and occasionally a Mercedes Benz.

In the rural areas, the people are mostly into agriculture and rarely live on subsistence farming. They have produce which is nowadays sold to these supermarkets in the cities and so they get fair price for their work. They also send children to rural schools which are not as good as the city ones, but nevertheless more or less everyone is educated in the current world. Recreation is done by visits to cities, celebrating events and festivals.

Overall, the infrastructure is not very good in terms of bad roads. However, you can easily find a bus/ train from anywhere to anywhere unlike the USA where you are dependent on someone when you don't have a car. Eateries are cheap and varied, giving more options to the consumer. Corruption is rampant, India has a lot of money - just that it gets to a pockets of a few people.

Giving you an idea to take a glimpse into Bangalore, one of the cities in India-

Strong and clear dream about fruit garden, old man, luxury house and killing a jackdaw..!!!?

Chris

Or it was a crow.

After such a long time I am seeing so clear dream.

I think it has a message, but I would like to ask you first of its possible meaning.

First I was in a shop with my classmates (i'm19 and go to high school) I felt uncomfortable trying on things because of my classmates for some reason. (I often feel uncomfortable at school.) I thought I will soon leave this place.

I left and suddenly found myself in Italy or rather India. I entered a man's house that had something to do with me. Dimly I felt he would leave and I could live in that house too.

Then I went to the garden part, which was empty. Only there was a small piece a kind old man owned. He allowed me to walk in his garden and I felt that I could have something from his garden. There were extremely high almost trees of white and red grapes, honey melons, mangos, avocados, tomatoes .etc..etc.. Trees FULL of ripe fruits/vegs!!! I thought to myself. Why not create an own garden like that next to him?! Then I saw an evil jackdaw that was about to try to do something bad to me and/or to that garden I inserted some metal thing in it and killed it. That was it. Thank you sooo much for reading so far. Now I am going through a tough, decisive period of my life which will affect the life I will live..!!!

Answer
garden- the garden is a symbol of paradise. u didnt mention if the garden had a fence. gardens that have fences-women that r dissatisfied and unhappy often dream about fenced in gardens. someone wiil deny u an urgent favor because u hve failed to show them how u really truely feel.were there flowers too? that means emotional stability, satisfaction and new friendships. taking a walk thro a beautiful garden means pleasent expiriance ahead. this dream usually a sign that you r isolating yourself frm the people around you..
forign countries-dreaming about being in a foriegn country might mean that a situation,a person,,a project, or one of your own character traits has not been acknowledged; u r still trying to figure things out.
fruit-is a sign that new plans are in the making.seeing diffrent kinds of fruit-an arguement will be resolved to ur satsfaction. dreams about fruit r often about sexual needs, and are a good sign for new plans and romantic relationships. and indicate reward for past efforts.
the old man is a symbol of maturity in all aspects of life. old men and women either represent wisdom or malice. and are a warning to take a closer look at your bad habits. sometimes the old man want to warn of evil minded people in your IMMEDIATE environment.
no definition for jackdaw. but since u defeated it i know that means u will overcome something that is a threat to you.
my transulation- u will overcome this tough period u r going thro. just watch your back. someone close to u is not as close to u as u think.

How do you "charm" a woman you like?

SanDiego21

i am interested in a woman and am of italian descent, and nice guy but dont know how to flirt with women can you offer me advice? I am brown hair brown eyes average build 5"11 190lbs, i have no luck with women. i dont know what inm doing wrong. many thanks

Answer
Hi there.

Whether you have a shoestring budget or have the luxury of a big spend, it is worth trying to suit the gift to the recipient. If its something she really needs, and best of all likes, it makes it really worth the trouble and the effort. The joy on her face is reward enough!

Letâs check out some options:

1. Jewellry:
. You could gift her a necklace, pendant, earrings, bangles, bracelet, or a ring.

2. Clothing :
Most women feel they never have enough outfits be it for work, social occasions or even the gym. If you gift her an outfit, moreover in a shade or style she doesnât already have, sheâll be over the moon.Do keep in mind a style that will suit her. . Try and have her size or her measurements readily available or at least ensure you donât buy something at a sale unless youâve checked that it can be exchanged.

3. Accessories :
Like never before, accessories are playing a major role in enhancing an outfit. Add a dash of glamour to a simple pair of denims and a white shirt with a really cool leather belt. Or add to her eveningwear accessory collection with a designer clutch purse. Or even a trendy but utilitarian bag to carry to the office. Make it a little roomy to store the million little things that women love to!

4. Watch:
From the delicate to the funky, watches are cool gifts for a lady. From leather straps, to bracelet ones, oval dials and gold embellishments, you know the kind she may be keen on so go ahead and treat her. Try and get one that has a warranty of at least one year.

5. Lingerie:
From the sexy to the practical, womenâs innerwear has unlimited options. Itâs a very popular gift between lovers but do get the size right. Itâs really not ideal to be holding up your hands and saying âthis muchâ or âthat bigâ when the salesgirl tries to help you out! Or even worse to run your eyes over her and say, âsheâs about your size!â Women love to receive lingerie from their partners. Thereâs something very sweet about the idea of those masculine hands going through delicate scraps of lace trying to unearth the right gift!

6. Beauty treatment:
If youâd like to pamper your woman, you could gift her a massage or a spa session or even a beauty package, which may include a facial, manicure and pedicure. Sheâll be thinking good thoughts of you while sheâs enjoying the soothing treatment.

7. Kitchen products:
If sheâs the domesticated kind and takes pride in her culinary skills gift her something that she will use and enjoy. Maybe a cookbook of Thai cuisine that sheâs never experimented with or an appliance sheâs wanted to buy. You may be lucky enough to be invited to a good Thai meal!

8. Knickknacks:
There are a variety of curios or ornaments to choose from if you know sheâs house proud or redecorating and you know sheâd really like something youâve spied. Scented candles, artfully packed potpourri, crystal, fluted glasses, or china the list is never ending.

Try this Example. I hope this works for u.

Good luck.

Why are the airwaves full of ads showing men producing Valentine's Day gifts for women, but not women for men?

John S.

The jewelry stores are in high swing this February with their ads showing men running out to buy jewelry for their ladies. "He went to JARED!", "Every Gift Begins with Kay", and all the others, etc.

The Vermont Teddy Bear Company has got their annual "Love Bandit" ad in heavy rotation showing the office females cooing and fawning over the gift bear ("It's much BIGGER than I thought!" and "Where can I find a guy like that?").

The Pajama-gram folks have got their standard ad in heavy rotation, showing the slinky women in new pajamas with looks of total ecstasy on their faces and how guys will probably win some special bedroom affection if they just buy their ladies some cuddly new pajamas.

But where are the ads showing women sweating over what they are going to get for their man this Valentine's Day? Or is this a day where only men give and women receive?

Oh I forgot...all women have to do is give their AFFECTION in exchange for material gifts, right? Or at least this is the subtle message we seem to be getting from the.marketing gurus who write these commercials.

I know many women who feel equally obligated to get their man a gift on Valentine's Day...so how come the advertisers don't seem to be trying to serve this consumer need, especially since women seem to wield so much spending power?

Answer
1. Men have a harder time knowing what to buy a woman for any occasion. Marketing schemes exploit this by showing men images of women loving their products. It's likely not that men don't know what women want so much as that it's women who do the majority of the shopping. When women want or need something, they buy it on a regular shopping trip. So it is very infrequent that a woman wants or needs something practical. Jewelery is impractical and expensive, and about the only thing left to buy women for "special occasions."

2. In a capitalist society, we are eager to show how wealthy we are by practicing conspicuous consumption, and companies that market luxury items are eager to capitalize on that.

3. Men still feel the pressure to provide for women in an age where women make ALMOST as much money as men. That's an example of different areas of social interaction evolving at different rates.

4. The female double standard. Women want "equal rights" and equal treatment, as long as it works in their favor. Women demand to be treated as good as men in politics and business, but have no interest in giving up their female privilege. Women (generally) don't want to be drafted into war, so it's okay that their not treated equally in that regard. Also, women don't want to give up being pampered, showered with gifts, and treated like weaklings when it suits them. So, there's currently an expectation for men to somehow know when women want to be treated equally, and when they want to be treated like the "fairer sex."

Like it or not, this is not a perfect society. Each gender, class, and race has its "cross to bear." Unfortunately, one of yours is Valentine's Day. Everyone, do me a favor. When you think you want to buy or receive diamonds, watch "Blood Diamond" instead. Realize you are not getting a precious stone, but a readily available rock for which people are being killed so that you may wear a status symbol. Diamonds are not expensive because they are rare or precious, but because you demand them.

End of rant.

i caught my fiance looking at porn, adult question?

Are you my

i dont know why but it hurts. he knows how i feel about it and its not like i never let him watch it, only sometimes, with me. we are 21 and 22 and we are getting married this month. i just dont understand why he does it.

we had sex at 4ish, drank a little in the evening, i gave him oral, and passed out. i woke up at 3 this morning to use to bathroom only to see that he left the computer on and he had been looking at 40yearold blowjobs. why does he still need to look at it after sex twice today. why do i feel so betrayed and hurt.

Answer
If you are going to marry a man, it's time you understand the physiology of the creature.

I'm a woman, 52 years old. I've been around the block a few times, and know a bit about men.

Men are visual creatures, and they are owned and operated by the hormone, testosterone. Testosterone provides a man with a very high sex drive. Men think about sex quite often. I think statistics say every twenty minutes -- again, because of testosterone.

All men look at porn. All men masturbate - married, dating, or single.

When a man looks at porn it has nothing to do with his personal life, or his wife or anything but a sexual release. It is not about another woman -- if you showed him photographs of the porn models/stars he's looked at in the past, he would never recognize their faces.

Women feel hurt and betrayed by their man when he looks at porn because they have no concept of what it feels like to have testosterone coursing through their bodies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Men don't have the luxury of hormonal ebbs and flows like women do -- it's a constant, and they need the "release" more often.

Mother nature created men this way at the dawn of time -- so he could spread his genes as often as he could find ANY willing woman.

Women, on the other hand, are more selective -- they want to pick a man who would pass on good genes to their offspring. So most women reject having sex with almost every man they meet...... (not so true for men).

If you ever watch nature documentaries, you will notice that many animals are like this as well -- the female is particular. OR the male animals fight each other for their own harem.

While there is such a thing as porn addiction, if your man isn't looking at porn every day for hours on end, i wouldn't think it was an addiction, but a natural urge. And with the internet today, porn is more available for free (no more expensive magazines!)

I hope this helps. I'm sure you're a beautiful vital woman. Be confident in yourself.. your husband loves you.

What percentage of childless women between 30-40 in America do you think are still single?

Quatzequat

As in, what percent of all women this age ( who have not had any kids) are not (yet) married... Just want opinions, not looking for facts necessarily.

Answer
I usually do not answer questions based on opinions but I will make an exception. First, let tell some facts.

1. Marriage and parenthood are not necessities. They never were and never will be. They are luxuries. You pay the price one way or another. It is also the choice of the couples. Of course they never teach you this in school, in the streets, on TV, in you house of worship, and at the dinner table.

2. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being single and parentless for the rest of your life. It is still your choice and not the choice of family, culture, religion, and government. If that is what you want and makes you happy then be single and parentless.

3. It is wrong to ostracize people who are single and parentless. They simply did nothing wrong and are not breaking the law.

Now to answer your question:

I have seen a pattern of more and more women postponing marriage and parenthood. But this is from reading the newspapers and watching TV news. The reasons are they are not ready, want to have fun and be happy, and know that most males are not really worth their while. The percentage is I don not know because I have not seen any scientific poll on this.

I'm trying to find a specific car commercial. A woman kicks the car door closed with her high heel at the end.

fuzzyhendr

I saw it on tv a few days ago and though it was hilarious. I'm trying to find it again... but can't recall what kind of car it was. The bulk of the commercial is showing the company testing the car. At the end, a business-woman gets out of the car and as the voice-over is saying, "...Because you'd never treat your car like that," she kicks the door closed with her high heel. She then walks back to the car, kind of pets it and apologizes to it. Funny commercial. If anyone knows where online I could find the commercial or what the brand of car is, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I'm a woman who wants to buy a watch... what are your recommendations?

Lauren CA

I've never worn a watch before but I think they can be a really beautiful accessory so I'd like to look into getting one. My husband has a Tag that he never, ever, (shower, swim, dive, etc) takes off. I'd like to have something pretty but tough enough that I can do the same with it. I don't want to remember to take it off when I mow the lawn or cook dinner. I'm also not really willing to drop $900 on a watch. What brands do you recommend? Also, what kinds of things should I look for? Like, what hand do you wear a watch on? Should it fit snug or be loose? Thanks!!

I do not say that is the one, just a shape sample.
If you dont have experience, beware of this, or it will end in the drawer
If you want it for daily use
buy one you do not need open close to wear
one with no outside stones or dyamonds of any kind (they will be lost)
one with no sharp edges of any kind if you do not want problem with cloths, or holding childs
one with no battery needed
be sure is gold made if you want it to look pretty for ever
the dinnest the better quality it is.

How much for down payment on used car?

Amanda

I don't really have anyone to help me with this kind of stuff so I am asking for advice on here and doing a lot of research. I don't want to get screwed over. This would be my first car so I have no idea what to give for down payment. I want to kind of have an idea of what I should be paying before I go and check out the car/cars. Also I want to know about how much you think my interest and monthly payments would be.

First of all, I am a 20yrs old female (not sure if my age/sex matters) and my credit is in the low 700's. I have 2 credit cards and have never made a late payment on them. I have nothing negative on my credit report. I have 2 part time jobs ( thinking about getting a 3rd). My monthly income fluctuates a little but is never under $1,100/month. Do you think the dealer would even finance a car for me. (I can't get a loan at my bank. They said I have to be 21)

I am not dead set on these but these are 2 cars that I am currently looking at.
http://www.kocourekhk.com/2001-Jeep-Grand-Cherokee-Laredo-Wausau-WI/vd/10479936
http://www.kocourekhk.com/2003-Hyundai-Santa-Fe-Wausau-WI/vd/9898395

Do you think they are decent cars for the price? My limit is $4,000 but I am willing to maybe go up to $6,000 for a Jeep or truck.
I live in wisconsin if that matters.

Any tips on buying a used car and how to negotiate with a car dealer would be much appreciated.

Answer
Well i must ask why are you looking at a dealer? there are only two reasons anybody should ever buy a used car from a dealer. 1. they cant afford to buy a car out right and need financing. 2. the used car comes with a warranty. but most don't. other then that its a better idea to buy from a private party. why? well that jeep you show above listed for 6 grand will cost you closer to 7 grand after the dealer sets up your tags and registration and all that. that jeep i can buy one just like it all day long for about 2 grand. dealers are way expensive i should know. i have been working for dealerships since i was in high school. any used car you get will need repairs. its just the nature of a used car. f the car comes with no warranty then your not gaining anything by buying from a dealer. here ill give you an example. take a look at this picture. go to this link. this is a picture of My Camaro https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/394074_2783510519865_658988738_n.jpg what do you think it cost? well a dealer will buy it on trade for 10% below NADA and then sell it for about 80% above NADA. so the dealer will sell this car for about 6 grand. what did i pay for it? 2,900 sure it needed some work but all used cars do. in 2 months time i spend about 600 bucks on it total. it needed new brakes and some hoses. a water pump and alternator. and it leaked when it rained. i fixed all that and still came under budget. at a total of 3,500 if i had bought it from a dealer i would be in the hole almost 7 grand. so unless your getting a warranty or the only way you can afford a car is thorugh financing then you should stay away from dealerships. now many people think Dealerships and wholsalers are the same thing. they arent. Dealers hold a franchise. such as ford or Chrysler ect. a place that just sells cars is a Wholesaler. Wholsalers get their cars from auctions, and from dealerships that end up with cars that are to costly to repair and sell on their lot. they wholesale these. these cars are the worst of the worst. never buy a car from a wholesaler. never ever ever. i worked for these places before. trust me. at the dealership when we would get cars that have been flooded, or on fire. or cars that needed over 2 grand in repairs. the boss would tell us ok just wholesale it. that was when we would just dump it on the auction lot or sell it at cost to an independent for resale. these are wholesalers. any place that sells cars but dose not hold a franchise ( a common brand ) is a wholesaler. do NOT buy from these places. you know like wayne ford, hutchens chevrolet. Hall BMW. these are dealers. Luxury auto. the auto connection. bobs auto these are examples of wholesalers. get it? ok as far as buying a car and negotiation just look up the NADA and kelly blue book value of the car you want. this will tell you how much its worth on the market. you want to get within 15% of this price. when talking with a seller make your offer low. i mean way low. the kind of low that is obviously not going to get you the car low. for example if the seller is asking 5 you say something like jeez i like the car but i was only hoping to spend around 3,800. the seller will of course say no way. and you just keep making him offers. ok if not 3,800 ill go 4,000. still no? 4,200? get it? and you also can also use some psycology on the seller too. when you get to 4,200 just say oh come on you can go 4,200. 4,300? your convincing him the car is only worth 4,200 is what your doing. see how that works? :-) it sounds complicated but its easy. if you want to see it in action there is a show i watch online called wheeler dealers. they buy used cars fix them up and resell them for profit. they are constantly haggling over price. you can find it on youtube. just watch how they talk over price. its really easy. anyways i told you all there is to know about buying used cars. since oyur not a mechanic i wont get into how to look teh car over for faults. you will need to find a friend that knows something about cars or ask if you can have your mechanic look at it before you decide. sometime people will agree to that. but not always. other then that you will have to use your own judgment.sorry this was such a long answer but i am kind of an expert in this area. :-) there really is a lot to this car stuff. good luck.

advantages and disadvantages of lowering your car?

Jamie F

hello, i was thinking of lowering my first car.
i am currently a p plater, with a 2003 mazda 6 luxury sport.
my step dad says that once you lower the car, the insurance wont be active on the car because you have modified it in a way.
also with putting some rims on the car.
i was thinking about some 19" rims, the car currently has 17' on it. would this affect my insurance too?
could you please help?
thanks

Answer
In terms of lowering the car...

Advantages...

1. It lowers the profile and wind resistance of the car.
2. It means the car is harder to turn over in a corner, but NOT better grip.
3. Some people think it looks cool.

Disadvantages...

1. The car has been designed by a professional who knows what they are doing, your mechanic will not have done the same sums that the car manufacturer has in order to determine how this will affect your vehicle.
2. The ride becomes harder, as you have less travel in the suspension it has to be harder to support the same weight.
3. It costs money, stupid money and your insurance will go up.
4. If you are in an accident then people will assume that it is the fault of the guy with a modified car.
5. It lowers the value of your car. In part because people will know it has been driven by someone who sees themselves as a racer. Even if I wanted a modified car, I would not buy one that it modified but just modify it myself. That way I would know it has been done properly.
6. Every time you go over a speed bump, you will have to be careful (also hitting curbs).
7. Your warranty will be invalidated (if you have one).
8. If you lower it by clamping down the springs all you have done is take travel out, if you do it with new springs then you will spend a lot on it.
9. Cops will pull you over ALL the time.

In terms of alloys...

Alloys are a modification and no matter what people say you do need to notify your insurance as it does affect the performance and reliability of the car. The lighter a wheel is, the better it grips the road because the amount of time that it is in contact with the road is affected by the ratio of sprung to unsprung weight. Also if the wheel is wider it will have more grip, this is not a good thing as fast starts that were powerful enough to damage the clutch would have spun the power away in a wheel spin, but if it grips then the clutch will suffer the brunt. Also wider wheels giving more grip mean that the calculations that the manufacturer has done to work out whether the car will roll are now inaccurate. With the correct wheels you should not roll with wide wheels you cannot know.

You are likely to spend a lot of money on any modifications worth doing, so much in fact that you are better off just getting a better car (especially factoring in safety and resale values). Women prefer men who drive unmodified cars and in all fairness if you want to be a fast driver then you should just spend the money on track time and tyres. There is nothing better than whooping some kid in a modified BMW with a diesel golf. Speed comes down to the competence of the driver much more than people give it credit for, if you invest in yourself, not in your car then you will always have that skill no matter what you are driving. I have watched a skoda fabia with four old men overtake a race spec porsche 911 (with its driver head to toe in race suit and helmet) at the Nurburgring because the skoda drivers were better. It is also great when you set a good lap time and people ask you what have you done to modify that car, and you say nothing, it was all me.

EDIT: You even have to tell the insurance company if you change your stereo, and that has no effect on performance.

what are some italian watch brands?

Q. list all you can think of and which i would be able to buy for around $500 if possible
THANKS! :)

Answer
The most known luxury Italian brands for watches are Gucci and Bulgari.
Another good brand is Locman (despite the English name, it's Italian, from Italy).
If you like more "daring" styles, you could also look for Tonino Lamborghini,

What are some prestigious brand names of men's watches?

Hannibal

Im shopping for a watch and i was wondering what brand name to buy. I want it to be an "impressive" brand name. Like Rolex. But Rolex is just too expensive. What famous prestigious brand names are out there. Like the Benz or Lexus of watches. If the style makes a difference then im looking for a stainless steel shiny watch thats big.

Ive seen a Charles Jourdan... I dont know if thats any good.

Answer
The following site has alot of mens watches in all price ranges. America is a brand oriented culture. Lots of people know names like Rolex, Tag Heuer, Tissot and Omega, less know of brands like IWC and Jaeger LeCoultre. I tend to buy watch brands that few people know of and I get alot of compliments on them. I've even had people with $10k watches take note and compliment watches that cost less then $1000.

If you want brand name recognition, got with Rolex, Tag Heuer, Tissot, or Omega. But browse through the site below, you should find lots of great prices on luxury watches as well as come across brands you never heard of.
