how much cheaper in dubai for shopping?

Nat R

If I want to buy a luxury watch in Dubai, how much cheaper will it be than buying in the USA? Can anyone quantify the price reductioninto a percentage estimate?

Answer
I asked around at the office, my Arab collegues confirmed that for sure the luxury watches are cheaper in Dubai.... but nobody could give me a percentage. For my site I am working on a cost of living / prices in Dubai page:

http://www.startpagedubai.com/cost_of_living_in_Dubai.htm

I could help you out if you give me some brand names / models + the prices in the USA. I will find out the prices here in Dubai and we can calculate a percentage difference. Send an email to: pricesindubai @ gmail . com

What kind of tanning bed lotion should I use?

luxury watches for women 2012 image

t(-_-t)

Okay, so I'm wanting to start going to the tanning bed (yes i know they're bad) for about 5-10 mins about 3 days a week. I've never been in a tanning bed before, but I want to get just a nice tan not bahama mama tan, just so im not so white this summer. What are the best (if any) kinds of tanning bed lotion for begginning tanners with fair skin?

Answer
My advice? DON'T.

I'll let Lisa & Glenna tell you about tanning beds.
Google Lisa and see what she looks like 2010.
"Plastic Week: Lisa Gastineau On The Dangers Of Tanning Beds"

She had 2-3 melanoma moles removed, one by her nose. She had nose surgery just to get her nose straighter, so she can breath again. She got those moles from a tanning bed.
Google: Warning in Tanning beds: About 13,200,000 results (0.25 seconds)

Tanning beds aged you by 10-15 years!
Google A Death by Suntan by age 26, Yahoo Shine 3-23-10. In April 2005, while working out at her college gym in Rhode Island, 22-year-old Glenna Kohl detected a hard, golf ball-size lump near her groin. . . . .In high school, Glenna did have an irregular mole removed from her leg. A pathology report identified it as benign, but the surgeon tested it again. The lab had made an error: The mole was an early stage melanoma.
Google: Lawsuits in tanning beds. About 2,130,000 results (0.29 seconds) 5-3-12.

Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7 for the rest of your life. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles, skin tags or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier. My nephew had a membership in a tanning bed salon for a year. After it expired, he stopped, now he's as white as before he began.

Tanning, is a result for 'damaged skin' and no products can reverse you from skin cancer or damaged skin, may prevent you from pre-mature aging, but that's part of the billion dollar beauty industry.
A new study conducted by the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Dermatology has found that tanning bed exposure can be dangerous when tanners self-diagnose skin problems and use the radiation to treat skin eruptions. The study specifically found that a tanning bed user that used the radiation to treat a mild skin rash caused by an ibuprofen allergy developed a much more severe reaction called toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). When left untreated, TEN can be fatal.
Melanoma is the leading cause of death from skin disease. An estimated 76,259 new cases of skin cancer will be reported particularly among women in their 20's & 30's, and that's 6,020 more than 2011, people died from the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute. Two million people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the US each year, according to the EPA's Sun-Wise Program. That's more than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancer cases combine!

How often should I apply gradual tanning tinted body lotion if I don't want much colour?

Sarah

I'm really pale so I don't want to look tan per se as that would look stupid in the middle of february, just a bit of colour would be nice. This isn't just something I want to just temporarily wear either, so should I just apply it something like twice a week (say saturday & wednesday) to keep on top of it? Will that be too much/not enough?

Answer
I'll let the experts tell you about it.
SELF-TANNERS: "I've had many patients who think these products somehow offer UV protection or that they give them a 'base tan' so they won't burn," says Dr. Hale, a NYC M.D., dermatologist and vice chair of the Skin Cancer Foundation. "'If I have skin cancer, you'll just remove it, and I'll be OK'. But the color that self-tanners create on your skin is completely artificial. But a lot of young women use these products so they don't look pale when they go to the beach to tan." 86% of women surveyed who use self-tanners reported they'd also baked in the sun, and 36% admitted they'd also used tanning beds (a leading cause of melanoma!) at least once in the past year. Australian study confirms that sunless tanning likely did not reduce the amount of UV exposure women get.

I live in a place were well there is almost nothing to do. I want to lose weight and stay healthy while having fun. Belly dancing has always looked amazing to me but i didnt know were to even begin to look for an instructor nor do i know of any local place that has this type of dance help!!! Suggestions

Answer
Check out if anything is available in leisure centres, health clubs, community centres etc, There are often classes happening that don't get much publicity. In the UK you can sometimes get evening classes via the council, perhaps you have the same.

Directory of teachers
http://www.bellydanceclasses.net/

If all else fails, get a DVD and have a go.
Amiras 101 is highly recommended for beginners.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWhfpzAItx4

You can also read up on terms, moves, costumes etc on here
http://www.shira.net/

It helps if you buy a coin belt as the sound gives you feed back on what your hips are doing.
Something like this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Luxury-Velvet-Belly-Dance-Hip-Scarf-Coin-Belt-Wrap-UK-/380332439070?pt=UK_Ladies_Dancewear_LE&var=&hash=item9757fcb941
Not too cheap as the coins fall off or don't make the right noise.

You can also get online classes from top dancers but they are for more advanced dancers.
There are lots of festivals and events where may be able to take a class or a beginners workshop.
Google bellydance and your area.

Any sort of dance activity and exercise class will help you to bellydance as well. Pilates or yoga would be good, and perhaps some ballet basics, but street, hip hop, flamenco, latin would all help.

i want to buy this watch and its from Hongkong and im in the uk. the item says its £2.45 and free postage, does this mean no other postage or exchange fees.

thanks

Answer
Yes you have that correctly, there will not be a mailing charge which is already included in the price. Since the price is quoted in GBP there will not be a foreign exchange fee either. Obviously this is a cheaply manufactured watch, but hey, if it lasts for a year or two you got your money's worth.

Mail of small packages from Hong Kong to the UK is typically delivered in about 2 weeks, often with the hang-up being in the UK customs office. There should not be any import duties either.

May I have men’s attention? Which brand is watch do men want to wear?

Love my boyfriend very much. He is handsome and sexy, I want to send him a gift. Maybe a watch is his favor.

Answer
A few more additional details would help -- how old are you (and your boyfriend), what's your budget, what's his style etc?

Assuming you are a young person who cares mostly about the style, take a look at Fossil or Kenneth Cole watches -- they tend to make stylish watches for young folks that quite good looking, both digital and analog. And they also tend to be rather affordable (anywhere from $25 - $250).

In digital watches, you've Casios and Timex that make some rather interesting ones. Check out Casio's Path Finder or G-Shock line, or Timex's Iron Man line (if you're into digital that is).

If your boyfriend is into analog watches, take a look at Seiko. They make a great quality watches at a decent price. A lot of their watches are Rolex-look alikes at much cheaper prices (not cheap knockoffs, but similar styles).

Timex also has some good analog watches. Another good brand would be Victorinox, makers of the Swiss Army Knife. They have some interesting watches, as well.

If you've a higher price point, you can look at low-end Swiss watches such as Tag Heur, Raymond Weil, Tissot, or Longines. For instance, I'm in my mid twenties, and my wife recently gifted me with a gorgeous Raymond Weil Automatic for Christmas [1], since I often have to wear a suit and tie for work, and it's a very clean and dressy watch. Watches in similar styles are usually priced at around 1-2k. Those are lower end luxury watches.

If you've more to spend, you get into brands like Breitling, IWC, JLC, Patek etc. which go from 5k and upwards.

In conclusion, assuming that you're a younger couple and your boyfriend prefers "stylish" watches, I'd look at the following -- Fossil, Kenneth Cole, Victorinox, Tissot, Tag Heur, and Rolex (in increasing order of price). Good luck!

who can tell me how to recognize the replica watches by our eye?

Arthur

last week, I bought a watch from the internet, when I show the watch to my friends, they said that my watch was a replica watch, I am very confuse, and I felt that I was cheated by the seller. now, I just want to know how to judge them by our eye, if you have any information, please let me know, thank you!

Answer
Check these following aspects yourselves to a watch you going to buy:
1.The Crystal: Hardness and Reflection: A number of watch manufacturers employ a thin coating or veneer on the surface of the watch's glass crystal to reduce light reflections and its effects. This often gives the crystal a slightly blue tint viewed at most angles. If the watch you're examining is a reputable and well-known brand, you may have reason to be concerned if there are a large number of reflections from the crystal at various angles. High-end luxury watches today use a synthetic sapphire for the crystal, compared to treated glass that many cheap replicas use and a true sapphire crystal will be scratch-resistant.
2.The Case: Details and Mechanism: Authentic watches have a transparent case back that allows you to see the watch mechanism and movement. They also generally have enhancing elements such as sophisticated gears and an intricate finish on the watch movement. Fake watches, on the other hand, have no decorations and expose a very plain mechanism with little or no detail and one look at it will often expose the watch as counterfeit.
3.The Crown: Solid or Shoddy: Cheap replicas sometimes have the logo glued to the crown. Ascertain that the crown has no indication of glue or rough edges. The watch should also wind smoothly and effortlessly. Some replicas imitate the engraving on the watch crown with laser etching, but this method is rarely used on authentic watches. In addition, some watches have jewels embedded in the crown. On genuine watches this jewel is usually a sapphire or ruby while replicas normally use a glass or crystal stone that can easily be spotted by its dull appearance.
4.The Band: Pins or Screws: Watches generally have leather, rubber, ceramic, carbon fiber, or metal straps or bands, which are straightforward to replace and customize to the owner's needs or taste. Quality leather watch bands are padded or have a soft leather inner section. Metal bands, on the other hand, are harder to duplicate. The cheaper bands are made of low-grade stainless steel and are typically held together with pins instead of the screws that most genuine manufacturers use. The more expensive bands are of higher-quality steel and use screws.

Ok so I live in Ireland and it's been quite sunny the past couple of weeks. I wear sunscreen when im tanning. Im not super pale I could do with a bit more colour though. Is the sunscreen too much, like would it stop me from tanning as much because the sun in Ireland doesn't get too strong so should I use a tanning oil or lotion instead and how long should I tan for?

Answer
I came from a vacation in Ireland, and found many people there working in 5 stars hotel, banks, luxury spas have beautiful flawless skin!

Need Your Advice. 20 Something Female Going to London/Paris NYE 2012?

Theresa

I'm traveling to London/Paris for New Years 2012. I need your help. Can you give me your opinion on places/events for New Year's Eve night? Also, how the weather is around that timeframe. I'm extremely excited and I'm responsible for planning this trip for my best friend and I.

Here is my video explaining EVERYTHING. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnL82WiWOhg

Thanks so much, guys.

Answer
In LONDON New year eve you can go:
Dinner:
1.Bella Italia has some specialty Italian options for NYE.
2.The Blue Elephant in Fulham is a luxury Thai restaurant offering dinner, traditional Thai dance, music and dancing for £70 each. At midnight greet the New Year with a glass of chilled champagne.
3.Bistrot Bruno Loubet is offering a sumptuous 4 course New Years Eve menu priced at £80 per person. Ttreats include Wild mushroom fricassée with poached egg and parmesan, seafood gratin with truffles and celeriac, and chilli roasted pineapple, passion fruit mousse, coconut tuile.

The big event for New Year's Eve is the free fireworks display at the London Eye on the South Bank. The display will start after Big Ben chimes midnight and will last for 10 minutes. Its popularity means it gets very crowded and it will not be possible to enter the viewing area once capacity has been reached. The best spots to watch the fireworks are from Westminster Bridge and the north embankment of the River Thames, opposite the London Eye, but they will be visible from across central London, as well as being broadcast live on BBC1.

Clubs for new year eve in London:
1.Ministry of Sound: London attracts 5000 people each weekend and has three dance floors and three bars. It has remained popular due to the legendary DJs, such as Pete Tong and Paul Oakenfold. The famous sound system is only ever run at 45% of its full capacity. If it was played at 100% it would be the loudest man-made sound you could hear!
2. Fabric: Super club Fabric has Europe's first bass-loaded "bodysonic" dance floor where bass comes through the floor so clubbers really 'feel' the music. Fabric has 5 sound-systems and 3 bars over two levels and a total area of 25,000 square feet. Oh, and be prepared for unisex toilets.
3. Club Aquarium has five rooms including a swimming pool and a jacuzzi (towels provided) - and there's no other club in the UK that can make that claim! There are also two dance floors and a chill out room, plus a VIP lounge.
4.KOKO is a Camden nightclub and music venue at the bottom of Camden High Street, in a Grade II listed theater building. This 1,500 capacity venue opened in 2004 and has already has had headline performances from Coldplay, Madonna, My Chemical Romance, and Prince.

In PARIS:

The Champs-Elysees is the place to head if you want to be at the center of the party. Starting at around 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve, people start to flock to the famous street, often bringing along bottles and plastic flutes. From many places on the Champs-Elysees, you can get a good view of the Eiffel Tower, which explodes into a sparkling dance of light at the stroke of midnight.
Major fireworks displays can usually be seen from the Champs-Elysees, and there are plenty of spots to go dancing or dining before or after midnight in the area. Although the ambiance here is usually "bon enfant" (literally-- "good child", or harmless), celebrating on the Champs-Elysees calls for you to be especially aware of your personal belongings, as pickpocketing is common in large crowds. Also, this won't be the party of choice for you if you're claustrophobic or crowd-shy.

Dinner:
Traditional Restaurants and Brasseries

The Flo restaurant group is famous for its traditional French brasserie fare. Special New Year's Eve dining is offered at the following of their restaurants:
Brasserie Flo (Metro Chateau d'Eau, Line 4)
Brasserie Julien (Metro Strasbourg-Saint Denis, Line 4)
Vaudeville (Metro Bourse, Line 3)
Le Boeuf sur le Toit (Metro Franklin D. Roosevelt, Line 9)

How long can my skin keep the tan?

Rachel

I'm fair skinned and have been working on a tan for the past week and a half (and I'm being safe with plenty of sun screen and I have not gotten any sun burn) and I'm actually starting to notice color which is a big achievement :) and I'm going to the beach at the end of June and then right after the beach I am going to Pratt university in Brooklyn for an art college program and I will be gone for 4 weeks. If I continually use lotion and exfoliate my skin once a week.. Will I still have some of my color when I get back? I know I won't have all of it.. But I don't wanna be ghostly white and have to start all over :(

Answer
You're TRYING TO TAN but you're also using SUNSCREEN?

Sunscreen will not protect you from getting burned.

Sunscreen will only make your moles or freckles larger, bumpier & darker, if you have them already. Not just moles, but freckles, skin tags, seborrheic keratoses, Discoid Lupus, Bullous Pemphegoid, Lentigo (Google search them) and lentigines -- nearly always non-cancerous skin lesions

Sunscreen will not protect you from skin cancer.

Sunscreen will not protect you if you have allergies, I never thought I had allergies!

Sunscreens also discolor your skin - for ever!

Sunscreen blocks Vitamin D as well.

Many beauty & hair products now have LABEL INGREDIENTS and DISCLAIMERS, specially makeup, they are required to put labels so consumers are aware to watch for chemicals: DBP, TITANIUM, MERCURY, HYDROQUINONE, or Toluene solvent, that causes cancer or harm us. In other words, less is MORE.

Tanning comes & go, unless you do them everyday 24/7 for the rest of your life. But in the end the only thing you'll benefit is either moles, freckles, skin tags or discolorations from sunscreens, lotions, etc. and the more you do, the more they get larger, darker & bumpier. Now however, a recently published study suggests that those people with ginger hair and fair complexions face a much higher risk of developing dead skin cancer even if they are completely protected.

Why do people finance overpriced cars and make dealers rich?

Wolf

I never understood it, I am not perfect and sure I feel tempted to take out a loan every time I see a sexy Mercedes pass me by in my old Toyota; but after thinking about it I would be a fool to be making $250+ payments per month when I could drive my 1998 Toyota for free since I own it

I had to ask since I was watching an episode of Judge Judy and the case was about tax return money and the financing of a car. Didnt watch the entire thing but watched enough of it to know that the couple had $6k and still decided to finance a monte carlo. Thats like the silliest thing I ever heard, my Toyota corolla cost me $1200 and I had it for like 10 years with no probs. Who the heck would down pay $6k on a pos and then still have monthly payments?????? I could buy 3 strong used Toyotas or Hondas with $6k...smh

Can someone please explain this to me? I could understand financing a car like a BMW 745 since most people cant buy it outright, but surely someone can buy a car like mines or a monte carlo for A LOT less than $6k. Why even finance a car like that when everyone knows it holds no value and isn't even considered luxury. Its like me financing a Toyota Tercel and making a dealer rich when I could simply get one for $1000 cash from a person seller!

If the person is low on cash and has to go to a Buy Here pay Here place for transportation to get to and from work then fine. I cant judge them because they are low on cash and probably got like $500 to their name; but having $6k and still financing a car is totally beyond me!

Answer
When you finance a car through a dealer they use a bank or credit union. The bank or credit union buys the car for the agreed price from the dealer and then starts charging you a monthly bill with interest! Its not really the dealers who get rich it is the banks.

Say you agree on a 20,000 dollar car and you have qualified for the loan through bank X. Once all the paperwork is done the dealer sends it off to the bank. The bank sends a 20,000 dollar check to the dealership to buy the car. Then 5 years down the road when all the payments are made depending on interest rate you endup paying about 24,000 for the car, guess who made the money here (the bank) they made 4 grand off of the buyer just for loaning the money.

I agree a buy here pay here place is dumb because they charge typically 20-50% interest its robbery, and they do make the money at those places, which is why no one should buy from those places. I also agree if you are looking for a used car and have a substantial amount of money in the bank you should buy it outright and I have.

What most people are thinking about is they only have to pay 150 bucks a month to buy the car for 4-5 years, not 5 grand all at once. What they don't realize is they will end up paying almost twice the amount the car is worth in the end by making payments, so if it is a 4 thousand dollar car they end up paying at a local used car lot (shady acres) 8 grand or more for that 4 grand car (stupid plain stupid).

Now as far as new cars go (like me) I have a 2011 Ford Ranger I got it for 19,000 brand new and it is the XLT model, got a good deal, but I did not have 19 grand to just plop down on a new car, but I can easily afford the payments, and my interest is only 3 %. So even at the end of the 5 years I will only endup paying about 22,500 for it which is still about 3 grand under MSRP!

You should also ask why do people even borrow money for anything, the main reason because we all put wants in front of needs, and those wants are or can be expensive so much so it is beyond our temporary means of getting that object, banks say ok I will loan you the cash but at a price, and us dumb consumers agree, it has gone on since the beginning of man so there is no point in even trying to stop it.

Do I go with exterior or interior when choosing a vehicle. Should I pick the Infiniti G or M ,?

Lightwave

Do you pick a car based on exterior or interior.
I really like the lines of an Infinity G because of it's versatility to modify and dress up to personally customize it to look sharper than it already is. There are a lot of accessories you can purchase for the G.
The M should not be modified externally, there are no kits or extras you can purchase for it. It's a car which has a shape that grows on you. At first it doesn't have that sharp sporty look but the more I see it, the more intriguing the design becomes. It bothers me that I cannot personalize it.

I had my heart set on a G37s and when the time came to go purchase one, I went into the showroom and happened upon the Infiniti M56. I was blown away by the M's interior and features. Yes, it has this bulbish design but it's more of an executive class model car.

I backed off the purchase of my G and decided to take the time to examine the M closer. After a couple of weeks I'm not ready for a final decision and can't make up my mind.

Help me make a decision. Everyone pretty much knows the G but here are some selling features of the M
It has these features I call the autopilot system.
I know this sounds like a sales pitch but each of these features help to sway my decision towards class more than sport.

- A lane drift warning system which gently guides me back into my lane if I start to drift. A lane change warning sensor so if I try to change lanes, it detects vehicles within my parameter and lights flash enabling a warning to tell me there are vehicles too close and again gently nudges me back into my lane.
- A great feature is the autobraking which brakes the car automatically: As I'm driving, it warns me from a reasonable distance that I'm approaching an obstacle too quickly and will gently apply the brakes preventing me from impacting the obstacle.
- When cruising, the car will set itself to the desired distance from car lengths and accelerate or brake based on the speed I set as the car's maximum.
- Four drive settings, Sport, Standard, Snow and Eco. I believe this changes the suspension and fuel usage of the car.
- 360 HP but it's needed for such a heavy car. fuel economy is not going to be great.
- Sound system by Bose and man does it ever sound great with speakers even built into the head rest of the seats.
- Dual climate controls that heat or cool the seats and steering wheel.
- The leather is quality and there is this Silver Dusted wood grain finish which has a soft glistening tone to it.

Infiniti G

I want to vote between the G and the M

Answer
Well for starters the Infiniti M56 and G37 sedans are in two entirely different price points, you are looking at around $37K-$50K for the Infiniti G37 VS $60K-$75K for the M56.

The Infiniti M56 is an executive luxury sedan making it more spacious, refined, luxurious and over all a more prestigious offering in the category. The M56 has a class leading 420 HP engine while the G37 composes a class leading 3.7 liter V6 engine. The M56 competes with the BMW 550i and Mercedes E550 while the G37 competes against the smaller BMW 335i, Lexus IS350, Audi S4 and Mercedes C350. The M sedan has three engine variants which include the M35h, M37 & M56. The M37 shares the same engine as the G37 while the M35h (hybrid) is claimed to be the worlds fastest luxury hybrid sedan with an engine producing an impressive 360 HP. The M35h offers the power & performance between the M37 and M56, not to mention its more fuel efficient at the same time. The G37 has an average MPG rating for the class it is in however it composes more horsepower then any of its rivals in the same class. Over all the M & G sedans are fantastic cars however the G is a more sports oriented sedan designed to thrill you beyond your expectations, the driving dynamics that Infiniti is so highly acclaimed for is found underneath the hood of the G while the M composes more of Infiniti's charismatic eye for design and refinement. To be honest, I think the G37 is the closest competitor on par with a BMW 3 series but I would wait and see when the new G sedan comes out. As you know the G37 is at the end of its life cycle, this is in fact its last year until the redesigned model is introduced for 2013. The M37 on the other hand is a brand new design for Infiniti and it will retain its resale value quite well over the years. The G37 is a great sedan and it upholds an excellent reputation but If you cant wait for the new G I would suggest opting for the M37 which is if anything, everything the G37 lacks..... and the G37 is already an amazing sedan to begin with. The G37 was built for a luxury sports car enthusiast, the M was built for a clientele in search of more then just performance. Like you said, technology and refinement.

Or you can try finding a 2011- 2012 Infiniti G37 limited edition, only 350-400 units are made of each version per year. Now that is custom! Most dealers have at least 2 or 3 in stock.

Im shopping for a watch and i was wondering what brand name to buy. I want it to be an "impressive" brand name. Like Rolex. But Rolex is just too expensive. What famous prestigious brand names are out there. Like the Benz or Lexus of watches. If the style makes a difference then im looking for a stainless steel shiny watch thats big.

Ive seen a Charles Jourdan... I dont know if thats any good.

Answer
The following site has alot of mens watches in all price ranges. America is a brand oriented culture. Lots of people know names like Rolex, Tag Heuer, Tissot and Omega, less know of brands like IWC and Jaeger LeCoultre. I tend to buy watch brands that few people know of and I get alot of compliments on them. I've even had people with $10k watches take note and compliment watches that cost less then $1000.

If you want brand name recognition, got with Rolex, Tag Heuer, Tissot, or Omega. But browse through the site below, you should find lots of great prices on luxury watches as well as come across brands you never heard of.

Which brands and types of male watches are appropriate for business?

Rummy Sam

I'd like to buy my boyfriend a nice watch for Christmas. While I'm primarily looking for something he could use at the office (he works in a major personal wealth financial firm), it would be nice if the watch was a bit versatile as to be appropriate in casual situations as well. But this watch will be primarily used for work, where it's paramount that the watch be fashionable and appropriate. I'm looking to spend no more than $350.

I need to know:
1. Which types of watches are appropriate for businessmen, and would work well in casual settings too? (leather bands? metal bands? thick or thin? Chronograph? etc.)
2. Which brands are considered business appropriate? (Armani? CK? Hugo Boss? Lacoste? D&G?)

I'm a bit partial to some of these below, are any of these appropriate?

I need as detailed a response as possible as I know almost nothing about watches or finance culture. Thanks a bunch!

Answer
If your boyfriend is an I-Banker or works with clients at any time during his work day, I would recommend sticking to actual watchmakers. To explain, while these watches look nice and look good, they are what are called "fashion watches." These watches are only designed and then licensed by Armani, Burberry etc... (And fun fact.. FOSSIL actually makes most of the watches you listed... basically those Burberry, Armani, Michael Kors watches are fancy looking Fossil watches (see wiki link below).

Examples of luxury watchmakers are your Rolexes, Omegas, Tag Heuers, IWC, etc... and the list goes on... a Patek Philippe chronograph will set you back $150,000 to put it in perspective. But seriously, few of us have the means to even drop a $1000 for a watch. While I imagine some of your boyfriend's clients may be sporting car-priced timepieces on their wrists, there are definitely quality watches in the $350 range.

For the price range you gave, I would look into Citizen, Seiko and Tissot. These are excellent watchmakers and their watches are extremely reliable and well made. The Citizen Eco-Drive for instance is one of the best quartz watches on the market. When investing in a quality watch or product in general, a good thing to look for is a company that specializes in doing what they do. I would leave Hugo Boss to men's suiting rather than fine watches.

Stick with a stainless steel face and a brown strap. This is timeless and can be dressed up or down. Black leather strap watches (while black 'goes' with everythings) can look too dressy. Stick with a watch face between 38mm - 42mm. (see the Tissot link below)

Hope this helps!

What is your opinion on being a modern day housewife?

Q. Personally, I think it sounds kind of cool.
I would like to go out and get a job, but I've been imagining what it might be like to stay and home and tend the house, and I don't think it's a job that gets enough credit. Yes, there's a lot of dull cooking and cleaning and such, but it takes more than that. You'd have complete control over how the house looks and feels, you'd handle the budgets, you'd raise the children.

I come from a traditional Catholic family, so all my family members (except those in economic need, and my own mother who is athiest) who are mothers stay at home, and I can see the benefits. The children develop a much closer and more intimate relationship with their parents, the household is always kept in order, and on the mother's part - well, all of them that I know have taken up flourishing artistic hobbies because the time is much freer. One of my first cousins once removed (or something) sews clothing for the entire family, and beautiful clothing too. My aunt is a fan of cooking, and she spends her free time making some of the most interesting and delicious food.

A lot of people talk about economics, but honestly, i'm not convinced. One of my aunts is maintaining a five-person household on a single part time income, and they are not starving. For much of my childhood my own mother was out of work; we simply didn't buy luxuries, and even though sometimes it was tough, we managed. Not to mention we live in a city in California where property expenses are high; you don't need to live in the middle of Kentucky to manage. As far as I've seen, the only reason one needs two incomes is if they require a brand-new car and fresh retail clothing and other such modern-day luxuries. If you manage the budget well (which a stay at home mom has plenty of time to do), and are ok with shopping it's not unreasonable.

I don't understand why being a stay at home mother is such a bad thing. I'm not necessarily advocating the thing, but I do feel that being a stay at home mother is just as legitimate and honorable of a lifestyle choice as having a career is.

Answer
I like it...a housewife is the sort of woman I've dreamed of marrying since...I was a little kid. My mom was like that before she started working when I got older. From what I've seen and from my own experiences when the mom is at home it is better on the kids...or if the dad is at home. Its just one of them has got to be home when the kid comes home.

I've been to school with those kids who's parents were both working(or partying) and weren't home and they were all fkd up...drinking alcohol..doing drugs...getting pregnant in the 9th and 10th grade like their moms before them. I was surprised hearing all these 15 and 16 year olds saying their moms were 30...31..I'm like...my mom is 43...she had me when she was in her 20s...Some people make a housewife to be some woman that doesn't leave the walls of the house. My mom went to the theaters with us(my dad and I), we went shopping at huge mall centers, traveled all around to see family on holidays, cool summer vacations we had a blast. I don't remember my mom sulking...I mean..she would go shopping whenever she wanted to buy clothes or whatever and just come back home and cook, decorate, watch a movie. A housewife would be great!

Where can I buy the most up-to-date lingerie?

Q. I have been keeping track of New York Fashion Week and yesterday when I watched a runway show I found a lingerie that looked so elegant and gorgeous on the model. I wish I can be that stunning in my lingerie too. However, I found most of my lingerie has been out-of-date. I think I need to add some fashionable and elegant ones but also made of high-quality fabrics. Can you guys give me some recommendations? Also where can I buy your recommended ones? Thanks!

Answer
Hey, I am a big fan of fashion, too!! Anyway, for your information, I would like to recommend three brands to you: Aimer, Vicret and LePa.
Aimer has very fashionable design and it also can provide comfortable wearing experience. It is said that some contestants of Miss World 2012 also favor its products. I hear It has opened an online shop. Maybe you can google it.
Vicret is, no doubt, a very fashionable brand. If you are looking for the most up-to-date ones, this brand is an option. But I am afraid most of their products are for relatively young women. Also I think the fabric Vicret uses is not as good as Aimer.
Le Pala is a very expensive lingerie brand. To me, it âs more of a luxury brand and out of my reach. I have never tried this brand. Maybe you can give a try and share me with your experience.
Hope my reply is helpful to you.

Answer
Spotting a knock-off is more difficult than you may think. Use the tips below as a checklist to avoid buying a fake.

1. Location, Location, Location
First and foremost, purchasing luxury goods at a brandâs boutique, website or authorized dealer is your best bet to insure buying a genuine product. Items at flea markets, home parties, from street vendors, or unauthorized websites are likely to be fake.

2. The Price is Right
Quality and exclusivity account for the high price of luxury goods. Thus, if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.

3. Construction Sites
Craftsmanship is a main point of distinction with luxury goods. Sloppy stitches in less visible areasâsuch as the underside of a product or inside pocketsâis likely the result of counterfeit production.

4. Package Deal
Luxury retailers meticulously package their products, including tissue paper, authenticity cards, product care information, superior quality boxes, and shopping bags. If you see a plastic wrap covering or a flimsy dust bag, it's probably a fake. For example, counterfeit manufacturers will often wrap the handles of handbags in plastic.

5. Spell-check
Counterfeiters will often misspell designer names. Check for letters that are swapped or a letter that is capitalized that shouldnât be, and vice versa.

6. Check the Hardware
With most luxury accessories, you will find the logo on all the metal pieces, such as zippers, latches, snaps, and buckles.

7. Read the Label
In a genuine article of luxury clothing, most often the label is stitched in, whereas counterfeit clothes are likely to have a less expensive hangtag. Also, check the country of origin on the label.

8. Timely Tips
Makers of fake watches may not replicate unusual features, such as a helium relief valve. If the feature is available, often times it does not function.

First thing I remember...is you see children smoking (like 5 yrs old) and much homeless children...much!

You can see a man in the morning going the bathroom in the ocean..(Number 2)

You see allot of poverty.

The electric goes in cycles..thru-out the country ...many generators to get thru those periods...there is way too many people.

The toilets look like holes in the floors with some handles and a place to set your feet.

Air Conditioning is a luxury as well as what they call (Chair Toilets)

Prepare to smell some arm pits...like mystique BBQ.....

Children are Prositutes in the streets too....

Lots of people....and when they figure out that your a foreigner ..they get curious and follow you a bit or ask many questions.

Men Hold Hands...(Like boyfirend and girlfriend)

And one other thing, a young man told me that in (Boy's only) colleges that it is illegal to have (movies,,,like bad,,badddd) there and then a student will get one and charge all other boys to come into his dorm to watch it and they all sit there together in front of each other and in each others company play..I find that strange..uughhhh yuck I hated this story.

P.S. it is common for a man of their country to admit another man is handsome...(that was very strange to me....feeling wise) I think the ideology of always seperating boys from girls throughout their lives causes these instances.

What on earth is wrong with the mentality of people in this part of the world?!?

Rahul J

I stayed in India for 2 months, and Malaysia for another 1 month, as part of my work. I made a few acquaintances there, and they took me around to their homes. I was impressed...they are certainly 5 star in my opinion. Now they expect that since I'm from USA, and the US dollar is worth more than their currency, that I am filthy rich and living in some sort of Beverly Hills luxury home that they see in Hollywood movies. And they constantly remind me "oh man you are so so rich..you're from USA". I'd just tell them that I'm not rich (but on the inside I feel like beating up such snobbish narrow-minded spoiled brats). When it was their turn to come over to USA, they wanted to have a look at my place. I told them that it won't meet their standards. Again, they go on with the "wah ur so rich, ur from america etc.".
So one day, I took them to my place. For the first 5 minutes, I just gave a serious stare into their faces, as I watched them scan my room in disapproval and shock. It's one of those old inner-city terrace style houses. Narrow, and compact. I took them during the night, so that they can't see how the houses look like on the outside, as my suburb is quite leafy- this way, I can give them the biggest shock of their lives! They still couldn't believe it..a guy from USA, living in an old-fashion house that is the size of their living room.
Needless to say, they didn't show as much interest in me as they did before, when I was an "American tourist" in their country.
I just thought to myself, here, have my middle finger, don't say I didn't tell you so.
People like that are just a waste of space on Earth.

Well there you go baby! I was 50 yrs (still?). when I back-packed in India & saw sooooo many sites that would make one 'cringed' as you would know! In my opinion the country's mentioned by you, India you can expect poverty (unfortunately) BUT! Malaysia is a very prosperous area - period! (can't do this or that, drop a piece of paper & your 'nicked') . You surely must of been meeting people's who allowed you into their home, maybe wealthy! Please do NOT feel as though you are no better than 'them'. You had the courtesy & kindness to invite these 'arrogant, supercilious SNOBS to your home. They should come over to England, maybe they would think our 'Old historical buildings are 'past it'. If I may say so your middle finger should of meant - " sit on it & swivel. I don't know you from Adam, I like your attitude. What goes round comes around.

ps. My son lived in Philly. for 10 yrs. & many houses near where, what the USA call 'row houses' in the East Falls area? off Henry Drive? on the line! When I visited my son I insisted I go South to the area as I like food from all over the World. ( in-laws are Sicilian - pasta not to my liking every day - irrespective of how good the food.
You sound a very polite, well mannered man. Keep to your Principals. Your parents & family should be VERY PROUD of YOU. (I am!) with love. X

Nice watch for my mom this Christmas?

I want to get my mom a nice watch for Christmas. I would like to keep my purchase under $350 if at all possible. I was thinking something along the lines of this:
http://www.google.com/imgres?q=Citizen+Women%27s+EW0890-58D+Eco-Drive+Riva+Diamond+Accented+Watch&um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&sa=N&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&biw=1366&bih=665&tbm=isch&tbnid=NjZGNoz29hAL5M:&imgrefurl=http://www.itmustbetime.com/citizen-women-s-eco-drive-riva-diamond-accented-watch-ew0890-58d.html&docid=_lOsmNsh9kh-oM&itg=1&imgurl=http://www.itmustbetime.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/E/W/EW0890-58D.jpg&w=280&h=280&ei=6jPHTqDHKMuEtgfGycTsCw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=190&vpy=251&dur=365&hovh=143&hovw=143&tx=114&ty=59&sig=102680990115656803068&page=1&tbnh=143&tbnw=143&start=0&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0
it is $296 on Amazon.
But I am not sure what a good brand is, or if this is a good watch for the money.
I know she wouldn't like anything too big and too flashy, so I am trying to keep it on the smaller side and avoid something that stands out too much. I think she prefers mostly silver.

If you guys could recommend me any good quality watches, watch brands, or even a decent place to purchase watches your help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Answer
Rolex watches are the ultimate luxury watches, but they would be out of your price range unless you buy them on ebay.
Good watch brands include Swatch, Citizen, Seiko, Casio, and designer watches like Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, DKNY, Armani, all of which would come within your price range.

The website I linked just lists some brands and price comparisons that you may find helpful

does anybody know the WORLD'S RICHEST FASHION DESIGNER?

Umm I can't find 2007, but here is 2006

"Top5 Richest Fashion Designer

One of the founders and current Chairman of Benetton Group, one of the largest fashion retailers in the world. Group also has stakes in Autostrade, Italy's largest operator and builder of toll motorways; and Autogrill, a chain of off-highway eateries. Luciano's luxurious office, decked out in 17th-century frescoes, is dubbed Sala dei Giganti (Room of the Giants), thanks to the fresco of four chiseled men whose figures run up the walls and across the curved ceiling.

2nd Giorgio Armani
Net Worth: $4.1 bil

Famed 71-year-old clothing designer not close to retirement. Too busy making deals around the globe. Recently lent Armani moniker to perfume, baby clothes, home decor, $10,000 Prive Borgo watches and hotels going up in the Middle East. A hands-on manager who has personally recruited designers to the firm, Dumas is also an active equestrian in his time off.

5th Prada, Miuccia Bianchi
Net Worth: $1.4 bil

The woman: The youngest granddaughter of Prada founder Mario Prada, she and her husband, Patrizio Bertelli, took over the family-owned luxury goods manufacturer in 1978. Q. Ya I need some good make up mine is crap. I was thinking about going to sephora but I saw the prices and was like HA screw this. So any girls know a really good brand of consealer cover up and eyeshadow? And what is the best mascara I really want my eyelashes to look better? So ya and I'm not trying to go bankrupt either so keep that in mind! :D thanks for the help I appreciate it!

Answer
Drugstore makeup is actually of good quality. Most brands like, Revlon, L'oreal, Covergirl, Milani, E.L.F, NYX are great products for budget conscious individuals. I use E.L.F cover stick to conceal under eye circles and it works great! As for eyeshadow, majority of drugstore brands carry a plethora of colors and textures for you to choose from. A trick I use to make colors more intense is to wet the brush before applying eyeshadow. It doesn't ruin the eyeshadow and you can build the color gradually without caking it. Lastly, I LOVE mascara. I usually only wear mascara on a regular basis. And what I've found out from personal experience is that mascara formula is the same whether you buy drugstore brand or name brand. Trick is to work with what you have. Mascaras claim to give length and volume but I find that to be false. If you have long lashes go for volume and vice versa. I have good length lashes but lack volume and color. So I buy mascaras that are rich black and provide volume. My personal favorites are L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black and Maybelline Full N' Soft.

PS: If you like watching makeup tutorial, I highly recommend watching Emilynoel83's channel [http://www.youtube.com/user/emilynoel83]on Youtube. She's very diverse when it comes to makeup. She uses both drugstore and high end makeup and gives great advice!

What's the best security camera system I can get for my backyard without spending more than $500?

kayla_b_32

I've read that X10 cameras are not good in the dark, and that most wireless cameras can be hijacked by scanners, so other people might actually be watching you while you enjoy your yard! Protection One just gave me an estimate of $3,000 for 4 cameras! Any suggestions? I'm trying to catch vandals.

Answer
Hello

$500.00 is low and $3000 is high I would go with a budget $1500.00 depending if you want outdoor or indoor cameras.

if you need outdoor cameras make sure the camera is rated for the temperature variance your region is.

Not all CCTV equipment is created equal, in fact there are many options that offer varying performance much like the automobile industry. In the world of CCTV you can find the equivalent of a $2,000 golf cart and a $350,000 Ferrari and everything in between. Both have 4 wheels but that's where the similarities end, itâs under the hood that counts.

Just like any other consumer electronic in the end you get what you pay for. Most retailers and sellers make about a 40-80% profit margin, this is after costs like shipping and overhead. That means when you buy a product that costs $100.00 the manufacturer usually has only spent $30 to build it which simply means itâs not a good product and will probably have a working life of about 2 months. There is a reason these products are 1/10 of the price of good and reliable DVR brand names. The type of seller these products attract are online sellers (ebay) and will make profits margins as low as 2% which means they canât afford to offer good service or allow for RMAs (returns). Cheap products are like disposable razors they are NOT designed to last for a long time and you will end up replacing them every 2 months.

Now some products can be made cheaply like ipod cases, screen protectors, and other simple products with no moving parts or electronics. DVRs need to be good quality as they run 24/7 (20X more than the average electronic device) and process anywhere from 30-480 frames per second which in a year is over 15 billion images, and a good DVR should last 3-5 years.

A true DVR and camera require years of research and development to facilitate the seamless integration of both the hardware and software. DVRs are highly complex systems that must run 24/7, processing millions of images per day and are one of the few products that canât be made both well and cheaply. Cheap and inexpensive products like Q-see, X10, Swan, Lorex, and other low grade DVRâs and cameras sold by Tiger Direct, Newegg, radio shack Sams Club, are not used by any security professional and should only be used by hobbyists.

To be honest Swan sells complete Garbage and is not used by anyone who has worked with CCTV or security products. I know other manufactures who used the same product as them and they felt they wee such poor quality they offered money back and replaced them at there cost. They are poor quality especially for IR cameras, due to low quality material, low S/N ratio, and c grade CCD image chips. I don't know why "TheMan" recommended swan clearly he has no experience with CCTV products.

If you are only going to spend 70$ on cameras then you should buy 15 dummy cameras they will be just as effective and cheaper hen swan cameras.

Also as far as night vision or IR cameras go most do not give good images in the dark. Many companies claim good night vision but there are only a handful of brands who give night vision over 30 feet out doors. normally if a cameras is rated 150 feet of IR it will give you ok images at 30 feet at night and good images at about 20 if rated for 60 feet you might get 15 indoors and will be useless outdoors.

Some good CCTV brands that I recommend are Bosch, Pelco, Honeywell and Ascendent.

http://www.ascendentgroup.com (Great IR cameras)
www.honeywell.com
www.pelco.com/
http://www.bosch.com

Economical DVR's
Two good economical DVRs I would recommend are Ascendent's AVP-4120 DVR or Pelco's DX-400. They will allow you to view all your cameras instantly from anywhere in the world using either IE, or a client software. The AVP-4120 uses the latest H.264 codec to improve streaming and recording time, and will allow PCs and Apple computers to remotely view cameras. These are the DVRs I would recommend that are good quality and affordable from companies who stand behind there products.

Again if you are going to buy Swan products save money and get dummy cameras they are just as affective and you will be less disappointed.

Hope this Helps,

The Infiniti M37 doesn't just aim to be a luxury sports car but more so an executive one, with small touches that even though have no effect, it creates a sense of significance. Weird smell when I wear fake tan!?

Karly

When i'm not wearing fake tan, i don't have this problem. I get up every day and put deodorant on just like most people do.. But when i've got fake tan on (no matter what brand) it makes my armpits smell so weird! I remember once after I had a spray tan done, the woman told me not to put any deodorant on for the first few hours because it would make me smell weird and I thought to myself "how could it do that!" so I just ignored it but now I believe it! I'm not going to wake up and put no deodorant on so what do I do? Either don't put any on and stink, or put some on but still stink! It's a really weird smell?! i plaster myself in deodorant because I don't understand why it does it, the liquid one and spray, yet it doesn't change nothing! Anyone have any ideas and what can I do to stop it? I'm obsessed with fake tan as i'm naturally pale but i hate this smell so much.

According to the FDAâs good manufacturing processes and to the extent that these ingredients can be avoided, DHA may contain up to 3 parts per million of arsenic, 20 parts per million of lead, and 20 parts per million of iron.

Did you know that DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) is allowed to contain arsenic, a poison, and lead a known carcinogen? Also the FDA does not police the manufacture of DHA and assay its contents. In other words batches of DHA that are produced by a host of refineries are exempt from certification.

TAN OBSESSION: "When I see a woman with bronzed skin, I look at it the way you might picture the inside of a smoker's lungs," says Dr. Ellen Marmur, MD., associate professor of dermatology @ the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC.

Find another kind of obsession. Watch Mirror, Mirror when the evil queen played by Julia Roberts wanted to look as fair as the princess played by Lily Collins. I came from a vacay in Ireland, and many of the people there working in the profession (luxury hotels and banks, etc.) have beautiful white complexion!
This is what beautiful flawless skin looks like:

Google Liv Tyler. http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=liv+tyler&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Or Google Catherine Zeta Jones - she's 42 with beautiful skin.

I've been protecting myself from the sun since age 9, but no matter, I got Discoid Lupus. Google that one. It was like someone punched my chin and it gave a purplish mark. It took 12 years for that to fade, so now I'm using a wide brim hat or umbrella for protection. Gene Simmons & Shannon both have been seen hold an umbrella during an event. They were invented before beauty products, for a reason. Google also Bullous Pemphegoid, photos, another skin disorder.

Which brands and types of male watches are appropriate for business?

luxury watches for $1000 image

What hotels in pattaya do not question if you bring women?

mychael101

I have heard some hotels in Pattaya beach make you pay extra if you bring women or guest. I am looking to enjoy myself after a year in Iraq, so I am looking for good reasonable hotels where I can bring two women, the same time, day or night without problems.

Answer
Most of the hotels in Pattaya that are not expensive usually will allow you to bring in a guest without a charge. Many hotels that are under 1000 baht will still have air conditioning and private bathrooms.

If you intend to stay in more luxury accommodation they usually ask you to pay. They figure you can afford it and besides they don't want to alarm any of the other guests by your continually bringing "guests" back to the hotel.

Check one place out for a couple nights and if it works out for you stay longer. If not move on, lots and lots of places in Pattaya to stay at. Choose a hotel between Central Pattaya and Royal Garden Mall.

By the way, if the front desk asks for identification of your friend it is for YOUR protection! "Guests" have been known to run off with money, watches, passports, etc. of the guy or gal who brought the guest in. Checking ID's is okay!

Happy hunting.
