Fossil is a US company, although it has acquired some Swiss brands, e.g. Zodiac. They source watch movements from many countries, and have a strong reputation throughout their range. They also design and manufacture watches for many other luxury brands like DKNY, Armani, Diesel, etc. Unless the watch you are considering actually says Swiss on the face it is unlikely that the movement is made in Switzerland or the watch was assembled there.
I think a lot of Fossil watches are very stylish, but personally do not think they quite have the cachet of a genuine Swiss brand when it comes to manual or automatic watches. I would go for a Tissot.
