I have always really enjoyed the idea of knowing and following luxury fashion and trends. For a while ive wanted to get involved in the luxury fashion industry but I just don't know much about it.

i haven't grown up in a family where designers and fashion is all around me and i was wondering if anyone knew any good blogs or websites that give me an introduction into the fashion world. I want to learn about designers, couture, shows, icons, everything!

Thanks for your help

Answer
I am passionate about fashion and this is what I do to be up on it : I always watch and analyse every fashion show (from the most famous designers like Dior or Balmain to the more underground ones like Christopher Kane, Damir Doma (athough these are getting really famous now!)...etc).
Seasons upon seasons you will be able to identify each designer's style, like what are the usual materials used, the shapes, the image (rather classical, edgy, underground..). Also, most brands have got clothes that are peculiar to their style (like press stud cardigans for Agnès B, military jackets for Balmain, extavagant print tees for Givenchy...).

Also, it's important to visit stores a lot, even if you can't afford what you're seeing. Plus, always look carefully at people in the streets, their outfits, accessories...etc.
There are some website from where you can get some inspiration, the most notorious is LookBook.nu , check it!

It's also REALLY important to dress your own way, you must have a personal style and you should be able to describe it.

Once you know more about the designers style, it will be easier to learn about what's up in the fashion world (like who took over Galliano's firm...etc).

Will I have any problems if I wear fae Lacoste shirt to France?

My friend told me that If I wear a fake Lacoste shirt when I go to france , I will be arrested, I do not believe it so just wanna ask u guys

Answer
French brands have been copied so much and this has created so many problems for manufacturers that strict controls are carried out on things like leather goods, watches etc...Customs officers take drastic measures when they spot fake luxury goods. They usually confiscate them and destroy them under your eyes so that you know that they are not keeping them on the quiet. If the goods are brand new and have been bought in the knowledge that they are fake, heavy fines are imposed.
See the following CNN report:
http://business.blogs.cnn.com/2008/08/15/do-you-fake-it/
However it is dubious that a policeman in the street will notice you wear a fake T-shirt and arrest you for it. They have other other things to take care of such as public security.
