Buy watch for male bestfriend, is Seiko a reputable brand?

I know Rolex, Movado are luxury brands but I can't afford them. The two watches I'm looking are from Seiko, one is stainless steel, and the other is a sports/strap watch. They're both about $60-$70. This is for my best friend, I want to get him something nice! (He's been hinting that he wants a watch) What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Well I can only say according to my experience. I have a Seiko watch bought about 12- 13 years ago. Its working absolutely fine.

I am a die hard Seiko fan.

Also Seiko is a reputable brand as far as I know. I'll say " Go for it "
