I have been using only drugstore makeup and brushes for all my life and I want to know if i should upgrade to professional brushes/makeup. I dont want to pay extra if i can get the same kind of quality for a lot less. I heard brushes and foundations should be bought professional. if someone could explain the difference and what i should/should not buy that would be great!:)

Brushes: Important to Invest!
Brushes are extremely important in how your makeup is applied. I don't think you have to pay a fortune for quality, though. Sigma puts out eye an face brushes that are a fraction of the cost compared to their competitors and are comparable to Mac and other high end brands. I have also heard that Sonia Kashuk puts out some great brushes that are available at Target.
Mascara: Save, Don't Splurge
There are so many amazing mascaras available at the drugstore. Cult favorites include Maybelline Great Lash, The Rocket, The Falsies and the Falsies Flared, Covergirl Lashblast, and Loreal Telescopic. I think your money is better spent in other areas when it comes to mascaras with all these great options in the drugstore.
Lip Products: I'm on the Fence!
I can make a case for both high end and drugstore lip products. If you enjoy expensive, reflective packaging, you might want to splurge for one or two high end lip products. If you think that packaging is annoying because you're constantly cleaning it for smudges, then go for drugstore products. Do you just want something practical, or do you like a little luxury? Are you somewhere in the middle? Here are some suggestions.
Drugstore:
Revlon Kissable Balm Stains and Lip Butters (sheerer than lipstick, richer color than tinted lip balms)
Maybelline Vivid Lipsticks (beautiful, bright, bold lipstick!)
Rimmel Kate Moss Collection Lipsticks (I've never owned them, but they swatch beautifully and are raved about endlessly by beauty gurus!)
Middle-of-the-Road:
Mac
Tarte Amazonian Clay Lipsticks (these are amazing, but they don't have high maintenance or flashy packaging!)
High-End:
YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks & Stains
Dior Addict Lip Gloss
Eyeliner: Drugstore does the Job
Pencil eyeliner is one of those things that does not stay on my waterline. I have tried Stila's eyeliner; it smudged. I have tried a Revlon eyeliner; it smudged. I have tried one of Mac's eyeliners; it smudged. I have tried a Rimmel eyeliner; it smudged. If you don't have allergies, I would say that a black pencil eyeliner from the drugstore will do just as well (or just as badly if you have similar problems to me) as a high end brand. For gel and liquid eyeliner? I'd also say to go with a drugstore product. I've had Mac gel eyeliner, but the Maybelline equivalent comes so close that I haven't gone back to using Mac.
Eyeshadow: Find Good Quality
You can find good quality eyeshadows at any price point, but you have to do some work to find them by reading reviews online.
Here are some lower price-point suggestions...
Wet 'N Wild (Comfort Zone palette, Walking on Eggshells Trio, and Nutty Eyeshadow are great, but quality varies in this range)
Covergirl Shimmering Sands Palette (their singles are worth trying, too, but read reviews of the colors you're interested in before buying)
BH Cosmetics (if you want a large palette with lots of color choices for an affordable price, go with BH, not Coastal Scents... I have heard that the eyeshadow pans fall out of the Coastal Scents palette)
Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows (they are all great!)
Maybelline Color Tattoos (stay away from Painted Purple.. that one is bad, but the others that I've tried have been great!)
High end suggestions...
Mac neutrals (Naked Lunch, Amber Lights, Woodwinked, Sketch, Cranberry, Club, Humid, Ricepaper, Handwritten, etc...)
Urban Decay Naked and Naked 2 Palettes (they have awesome colorful palettes, too!)
Foundations: Great High End and Drugstore Possibilities
If you've ever watched YouTube foundation routine videos, you're likely to have seen Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, Laura Mercier Silk Creme, Tarte Amazonian Clay, and other high end brands like Mac. On the drugstore side, you've probably seen Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, Revlon Colorstay, and Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to set it all. All of these foundations are great options, and you can't go wrong with any one of them (unless your skin just doesn't agree with an ingredient!). It's your decision how much you're comfortable spending, but I honestly don't believe you need to shell out fifty bucks to find a great foundation that works for you.
Overall, I think that you can find makeup that works for you, whatever your budget is. While there will always be people who prefer high end makeup and others who are die hard drugstore fans, I think that creating a mixture of products depending on what makeup you use the most is always the best option.

Seiko, Citizen, Bulova etc etc... what's the best watch maker in the $100-250 price range?

i know there are die hard fans for each brand, but if you guys can, please give the best all around watch maker in the $100-250 price range as i'm looking to get myself a nice present for christmas :) i'm sure they're are more watch makes i forgot to list, but i'm open to any and all opinions! thanks
edit. I would like some advice from the true watch enthusiasts please! as i'm trying to get into watch collecting myself and i would like a nice timepiece recognized by all. thanks again!

Just to throw my two cents in... I would also add Tissot in that range if you buy online (not in stores). Tissot is Swiss made and is one of the entry level luxury watches in the Swiss made realm (they are owned by the Swatch Group).
BUT I will add... WHAT kind of watch are you looking for? A quartz or an automatic? If you want to start collecting.. you'll eventually need to cross that line from a quartz to a mechanical. In that range, Seiko makes a pretty affordable and realiable automatic. I would highly suggest checking out Orient watches as well. These are Japanese automatic watches, which are a huge bang for your buck.
For quartz... the Citizen Eco-Drive series. Such a solid quartz in that range and one of the best quartz systems on the market.
Research and dig through the forums at Watchuseek.com. I search there regularly but am no where near the expertise of those forum members. You will also definitely get the best deals online in the "grey market" as it's referred to (aka Amazon, Jomashop, etc..)
