In Islam, are you allowed to be rich?

Salaam brothers and sisters,

My question is as states above. Reason being, is that one day I was lying in bed, and it suddenly dawned on me, are Muslims allowed to be immensely rich? With all due respect to all other brothers and sisters, (I'm trying my best not to gloat, I'm trying to set the scene), my family is really wealthy. There's 5 of us, and we live in a 15 bedroom mansion in the UK, (for security purposes we have to reside in privately owned land). However, me and my family tend to like the more finer things in life. We take our family owned jet to holidays, we own Italian sports and luxury cars, and I myself am a watch collector. (My collection of watches spans 10 million GBP). We occasionally to less fortunate people through charities.

Is it even halal for Muslims to be in possession of such wealth? Mind you, all sources of our income are 100% halal. It's the possession of my family's wealth I'm talking about.

Please don't give be BS about how, "Oh, if you're so rich, you should be hiring someone to tell you this stuff". It's BECAUSE we're so rich, we DON'T hire people to tell us stuff. They'll only rub us up, to get a piece of the cake. So I guess here, I can get an honest answer.

You're allowed to be loaded. Just make sure youse give out of that which God has given as youse already seem to do with your charitable activities, pay zakat and not let your wealth make you think your better than anyone else (not saying you do). I think the only problem is wealth accumulated by haram means and kept and hoarded selfishly. Allah (swt) speaks about the punishment for such a crime:

"To those that hoard up gold and silver and do not spend it in Godâs cause, proclaim a woeful punishment. The day will surely come when their treasures shall be heated in the fire of Hell, and their foreheads, sides, and backs branded with them. They will be told: âThese are the riches which you hoarded. Taste then what you were hoardingââ (Al Quran 9:35).
