Does everyone have the luxury of leaving their kids with friends or family occasionally?

My mom is giving my crap cuz I don't have friends I can trade babysitting with. I'm a loner so I don't bother making friends and have lost the ones I had for one reason or another.

Answer
I use family/friends if I can. My brother (my kids uncle) lives with me and is usually more then happy to watch the kids for a homemade pizza or a delicious cup of coffee. The kids love him so it makes my night easier.

Because I hate to feel like I am taking advantage of someone I only like to reserve my brother for times that are most important. So I have a babysitter. I found mine through the Red Cross Babysitting Course that was offered in my area. Called them up, they said they had a babysitter, interviewed her and I was set. Been using her since she was 13. Wonderful girl. Plus she is very eager to earn money so when I call she drops what ever it is she is doing and comes right over. Try finding a babysitter nearby that you feel safe leaving your kids with.

I have a lot of friends, but they have kids and they don't need more. Even if I was to pay them I would feel like I was burdening them to leave my kids with them. So my friends and family are something I use in a bind . . not for regular babysitting. Of course . . .if my parents lived in town I wouldn't need a babysitter . .my parents would be at my door the moment I thought about needing a babysitter. =)

Ladies, what was your favorite "cartoon" growing up as a kid ?

I love you

I loved cartoons growing up as a kid. Unfortunately children nowadays do not have the same luxury as
my generation did, back in the days, to get quality
programming. I grew up in the 80's by the way.
My favorite cartoon was Thundercats and Transformers.
I still watch them online when I can. But as I said, now
kids get all this generic craps. Especially on the Noggin
Network. Are you kidding me. That stuff sucks. What
was your favorite cartoon growing up as a kid.............

Answer
I watched the cartoon Spiderman and Xmen cartoons RELIGIOUSLY as a little kid. I was born in 1988.
